  • Remote wild camping on a working farm near Penzance in rural Cornwall
  • A 10-minute drive to Land’s End, and 15 minutes to the Minack Theatre
  • Dog-friendly site with easy access from the A30
About as far as you can go in southwest England without actually falling into the sea, Little Bosanketh Farm Camping is a pop-up site in a pretty and peaceful Cornwall meadow, just off the A30. It’s a pick-your-own-pitch setup here, and there’s plenty of space to go around so you can have a little wander and choose the spot that appeals the most. It’s also a completely off-grid experience, with just running water and toilets provided on the facilities front (but although they may be basic, everything is kept spankingly clean). Life is all rather laidback here – you’re welcome to bring a dog along, and barbecues and campfires are also permitted. It’s best to pick up all the bits you need for such outdoor pursuits as you pass through Penzance (15 minutes’ drive), although there is a shop five minutes away in Sennen (and a pub too, if you’d rather eat out). Clearly you can’t come this far and not go down to Land’s End, which is about 10 minutes’ drive away. It’s also worth planning some time on Sennen beach and/or Porthcurno beach, and seeing if you can pick up tickets to a show at the seafront Minack Theatre.

Liked: I liked the fact that if my little touring holiday had gone to plan I knew that there was a camping ground booked, sadly poor weather delayed me at a previous campsite while I dried out some of my kit. So I can't rate this specific place but I used to live close to Bosanketh and was sorry not to visit the area again after twenty-two years, especially the local beaches at Sennen and Gwynver. Perhaps next year I may make it?

Disliked: I disliked the fact that I couldn't get there but then St.Buryan and St.Just are a long way from East Sussex where I now live and have always been hard to get to which is part of their attraction. An old hippie friend once told me that Land's End is like the toe of a Christmas stocking, all the nuts fall to the end - I hope it is still as full of eccentrics as it was when I lived there.

Liked: Liked being able to choose our own spot and how quiet it was.

Disliked: The toilets were very dirty from someone staying overnight… so not the owners fault at all. Just frustrating that some people have no manners and can’t clean up after themselves.

Liked: Lots of benefits to this site!!!! Quiet camp site away from the main road. Very peaceful. And a beautiful site to watch the sun set. We could pitch up anytime, and leave anytime, this ment we could head straight to the camp site after a drive overnight. Fresh drinking water available. Ground pretty flat. Very close to Lands end, less than 5min drive! Other tourist attractions within a short drive e.g St Michael's Mount 30mins. And cheap! So so many positives!!!

Disliked: X2 portaloos, could possibly have done with more. They could have been cleaned more frequently as there was a day that we couldn't use them due to them being blocked and smelly. But there was a very large family staying on the site, and once they went home the portaloos were not an issue at all. I think it was just bad timing, or maybe if there was an extra loo it would of been fine.
