Non-electric grass pitch
Liked: Nothing to like
Disliked: Just about the unfriendliest and unwelcoming campsite I’ve ever been to. No staff, no way of contacting them. Drove out and stayed at a premier inn.

Electric grass pitch
Liked: • Rural • Quiet • Easy to find • 20 minutes to Dover ferry It was a very basic site, we arrived at just after 7pm to the office closed with no instructions on what pitch to have and no one around to ask, we also hadn’t had anything via email so we just picked a pitch and set up. It was slightly overgrown and muddy in places but this didn’t bother us. The washroom facilities were basic, there was hot running water in the showers and both the shower and toilets were clean which is all we required 😁 The site appears to have a couple of long term residents in some old, tired looking vans as mentioned in other reviews but they seemed pleasant enough and kept themselves to themselves.
Disliked: I woulda’t say we disliked anything but it is very basic. For the local area and location the price is good but given how basic the site is it could be seen as expensive…. Could do with a little upgrade to the facilities - A paint to the concrete floors, a bit of heating etc….. wouldn’t cost much but would make a big difference

Electric grass pitch
Liked: We didn’t stay. Arrived and left after seeing the site.
Disliked: After driving round the uneven track we decided it was best to find an alternative site for several reasons. These being - The grass was severely over grown with deep tyre tracks all over the areas that are meant to be pitches making it hard to find a flat or suitable ground for our tent not to mention the risk of driving onto a pitch and not being able to get off! Half of the camp was taken up by permanent residents. We were watched continuously from the moment we got there by all making us feel very uneasy / unwelcome. There was no one at the reception when we arrived, another couple said they had been there for a few hours and hadn’t seen anyone and told us to just pitch up as they had done (Which of course we decided against). The phone number had been scratched off with no way to contact anyone. This site is nothing like the pictures, it did not have a family, friendly or happy atmosphere as pictured. We were severely disappointed and if it hadn’t of been for another site having availability our weekend away would have been ruined!

Liked: It was Quiet.
Disliked: Arrived at 10.30 to no one at reception, sign on door saying be back soon but no contact number. Phoned number from PitchUp person who answered no longer works there. Waited about 30 minuets to no one arriving. So we pitched up anyway. We did not see anyone at reception for the whole stay. The site was not mowed and actually was a bit of a mud bath for electric pitches. Showers and toilets dirty and run down. No working locks on women's showers or toilets and only 1 shower in use. Men's toilet and shower was very run down but nice hot water. I would of told a staff member but as said before there was no way to get hold of anyone. Alot of permanent caravans that are very run down but the few people we met were friendly. It is by a country road but this did not bother us and was still quiet.

Electric grass pitch
Liked: Cheap Clean toilet, shower and wash up facilities Level pitches albeit soggy. Good for a short stop on the way to the ferry but only if it's been dry for a while.
Disliked: Site was waterlogged. Camper sunk 4" overnight, which doesn't sound a lot but it's enough to prevent it moving. Had to wait for my sons Defender to winch me out. Cut trip short as too muddy for me. Pitches on the left as you come in are better I'm told by the longer term residents. No staff on site at any time as far as I could make out?

Liked: Grass was flat and for the price exactly what we expected. The toilets were clean and the washing up area tidy. Electric hook up also a big plus.
Disliked: Right next to the road

Electric grass pitch
Liked: Better than the early drive for the tunnel crossing the next day
Disliked: They should not have been taking bookings as the whole camp had been flooded and we had to park leaving some wheels on the road way to make sure we could get back off the grass but couldn’t help getting mud in the motorhome trying to do anything especially with a dog. Not a good start to getting away. It also cost £30 no reduction for conditioning of the place.

From the manager: If you look at the terms and conditions you would see that there is very little we can do about the weather. We assisted our guests where we could, and wished them a pleasant adventure in Europe.
