Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Beautiful view, large pitch, great showers. Our caravan (8 mtrs) did fit easily. Despite our arrival was late, the owner came to welcome us and show us our pitch. Nice place for a first night when coming of or going to the ferries. We didn't need wifi.

Disliked: Can't think of anything.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Flexibele aankomsttijd. Prima camping. Net sanitair.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Lovely clean space overlooking the stour. Plenty of space and well drained and level pitch. The pub is unfortunately closed though. It would have been much better if it had been open because the nearest eating place is a few miles away.

Disliked: The price to stay is a bit much given that there isn't too much to do.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely quiet secure site. Has both grass and hard pitches with plenty of space. Excellent very clean facilities. John the site warden was very helpful when we had a problem with our towing electrics and had to stay an extra night and then wait for a recovery vehicle the following day. There is also a really good fish and chip shop 'Mistley Fisheries' which is a couple of miles away that I'd highly recommend.

Here for a longer stay? Pull on the hiking boots to ramble the heathland in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour’s drive), or walk along the River Stour to the famous riverside cottage featured in Constable’s ‘The Hay Wain’ in Flatford and Constable Country (20 minutes). Raise your activity levels by challenging each other to kayak races at Alton Water Sports Centre (25 minutes). Turn your attention to the coastline and stroll the sandy expanse at Wrabness Foreshore (10 minutes) to the green-tiled House for Essex, a beachside folly designed by Grayson Perry. Play the amusement arcades on the Victorian pier at Clacton-on-Sea (25 minutes), and if the weather’s showing promise, have a laze on the sand at Walton-on-the-Naze (20 minutes). And you’ve got many options for rainy days too. Get under cover to see railway memorabilia in the former Victorian station at the East Anglian Railway Museum (half an hour), or tour the interactive history exhibits at Colchester Castle (25 minutes).
