Liked: The chilled out owner and they had fire pits. We didn’t use them but would return to use them next time. It had clear signposts and was easy to find. It was spacious and flat with lovely trees for the birds to sing in. The sound of the river near by was lovely to sleep to!!
Disliked: Only the mud but was just the rainy weather

Liked: The field, views, service, fire pits and general welcoming, friendly feel. Dogs were able to wander and explore freely.
Disliked: The toilets are a bit tight in space to get in and out, conscious we may not return until next year after pregnancy or ill never get around the doors!

Liked: Really loved this campsite. Was peaceful and perfectly situated right beneath cat bells and only a 15 minute walk from Derwent. Staff were friendly and approachable and suggested a great pitch for us. It was marvellous to look out at the mountains with the stream behind us. We like semi wild campsites that are essentially a portaloo in a field and back to basics. This site does this really well and they have clearly worked hard to establish the site. I really liked the addition of the festival showers. After a big hike it was nice to have a quick shower and was appreciated. Facilities were maintained well which when it’s muddy is a challenge. This site had everything we needed and were looking for from our stay.
Disliked: On such a beautiful, tranquil and peaceful site the one camper van that was playing music quite loudly was a shame. It spoiled the peace of the site especially as they were the only ones and it was obnoxiously loud. We were opposite them and could hear it inside our tent. The staff did ask them to turn it off/ down on the first night, only on the second night they sat outside with a fire pit and played it again and kept putting the volume up.

Liked: Really friendly staff, with beautiful views and ideally located for a walk up catbells. Good bus links to Keswick, or about an hour's walk away. The fire facilities were good and the showers were nice and hot.
Disliked: Would have been nice to have an area with just sinks, separate to the toilets to be able to brush teeth freshen up etc. but I understand this would need a more permanent structure and isn't always feasible
