The approximately one acre of level grassland was opened in 2007. With mature, thick hedges on the west and south sides, giving shelter from the prevailing winds, and willows to the east there is plenty of cover for the 25 varieties of birds, at least, on site.
Electric hook-ups and toilet/showers are available on site.

Tranqil David B. (Mature couple, 1 review, 0 photos) Confirmed ?
Liked: The Paddock is a tranquil site in area well known for things that commonly fly past –be they Marsh Harriers and Barn Owls over the adjacent fields and RSPB site or fighters passing overhead from nearby RAF Mildenhall. It can be a difficult place to find initially but the owner of the site, Stuart, is great at giving directions when panic starts to set in as the road narrows and is always there to meet ... Disliked: The local council has cut-back on footpath maintenance to the degree that walking directly from the site into the surrounding countryside poses a threat to your health and well-being, such are the amounts of nettles that thrive in the area. This forces you have to drive or walk on the roads to get about. |

Directions
From Lakenheath, take the turning signposted 'Sedge Fen', near the former Half Moon Pub (in the high street). Follow the signs to the Sedge Fen Baptist Church. At the corner near the church, turn right so that you pass the church on your left. Follow the single-track road round a sharp left hand bend (about half a mile) to The Paddock. The entrance to the site is straight in front of you. If travelling from the A1101 Littleport/Mildenhall road, follow signs to Sedge Fen Baptist Church - the turning is one mile south of Shippea Hill railway station.
