喜欢 This is a large and quite level grassy field where you can pitch along the sides. The central area is not mown so remains wild. The three portaloos are clean. Close proximity to bus stops midway between Bath and Bristol and an excellent bus service makes this a good choice for those wanting to stay for a while and either use a car to visit places or cycle or use buses. There is also a cycle / walking path fairly nearby for road-free access to Bath and Bristol along the old train tracks. The site is easy to access but anyone with a long rig would benefit from approaching the site with it on the left as the turn from the right is tight and you don’t want to be left with the rear hanging onto a main road while sorting out the coded padlock to the gate. There is a small convenience store within a short walk away and a filling station and shop fairly close too. A nice garden centre is nearby with a cafe serving food but the breakfast is very limited. Slightly further walk away is the old station heritage line with trains running some days and a buffet open daily serving hot and cold food for breakfast and lunch. We didn’t go to the social club next door but it seems you can get a drink there and look over the football pitch.
There are many recycling bins on site which is great but they were rather full when we visited - perhaps a victim of their success.
不喜欢 Although there is a pub about a mile away they don’t serve food and those that do are a longer walk or drive away.
The main road at the front of the site is quite busy so expect a bit of noise from the road if you pitch at the top. The pitching area is a circuit around the edge of the field with a cut-through in the middle so you can drive around it in any direction (not obvious when you get there as the un-mown grass in the middle makes it hard to see around the field).
