喜欢 Lovely site in the middle of village called Thompson. Met on site by the owner "Fred" who gave useful information for during our stay. Basic facilities, immaculately kept, couldn't ask for more we will deffo visit again. Nice touch having picnic benches dotted around. We did the Pingo Trail whilst there so was ready for a drink after 9 miles in the heat.

喜欢 Really big site, loads of facilities and things to do and all seemed fairly priced. Ate in the Boathouse during our stay and have to say all the food that we had (4 of us) was really good and piping hot, no complaints at all. Nice swimming pool, crazy golf and several outdoor activities.

不喜欢 I have been reading over the last month or so that all the dislikes and negative points was the toilet block, I thought to myself that the amount of complaints there had been and responses from management promising that it would be sorted I was quite shocked at the poor state of the touring block toilets and showers. It was quiet on touring whilst we were there not even 20% full and yet the toilets were filthy. I took a picture of one of the toilets at 1pm on the Saturday and was shocked when I went back in at 10pm to find it was in the same state! meaning not a single cleaner had been in there for literally the whole day! disgusting! you should be ashamed of yourselves. Everything about the site itself is superb and you drag it down to a really low score due to a total lack of care and attention in the toilet and shower block. To start with it desperately needs a refurb, lights not working in certain showers with dark tiles just looks awful, even no soap in hand soap dispensers! No doubt your response to my review will be the same as all the others I have been reading, sorry they were dirty we will let the relevant department know??? well either nobody exists in that department or they are not taking a blind bit of notice to either the reviews or requests to get the place tidied up. The whole weekend I was on site I didn't see a single cleaner at any of the toilet blocks, very, very poor. If you are thinking of staying at this place in the school holidays when it will be three times the price to stay and at capacity then all I can say to you is best of luck as I wouldn't wash my dog in there how its presently kept and won't be returning until the negative reviews stop about it.

喜欢 Absolute gem of a site! we will be returning for sure. Wardens are very friendly and helpful. Lovely location on the River Wissey, lots of different walks available, we enjoyed long walks along the river which was very scenic. Decent showers, plenty of hot water, so all good there. Garage across the road which is a Londis shop, pub in the village of Stoke Ferry which is 15 mins walk from the site.

不喜欢 Shame it's so near to the main road where vehicles are slowing down for the roundabout and the accelerating away again, would be perfect without that. Biggest dislike was we could only stay 3 nights :)

喜欢 Originally the pitch we had been given we found someone else pitched up on it so had to go back to reception to get sorted out! They were helpful and moved us to one of the new pitches which was very nice. Nice site, easy walk into town, nicely accessible. For price we paid were happy, however looking at the prices charged for some peak times then we most definitely would not stay at that time, off peak prices are about right for it.

不喜欢 Shower and toilet block is very dated and well ready for a revamp, this lets the place down.

喜欢 Open field, choose where to pitchup. Working farm, yard was quite muddy but to be expected. Good sufficient toilet facilities. Nicely positioned for several walks from the farm, we went to Castleton in the afternoon and Mam Tor walk following morning.

不喜欢 Only thing disliked and no fault of the site is gate across the entrance to the roadway to access the farm always has to be shut, not easy if you are on your own.

喜欢 Really liked this site, lots of space to choose pitch and great views of the lakes. Lots of wildlife about. Good price to stay, will be back in the future when next in the area. Nice walks, public footpaths.

不喜欢 Could only stay one night! :)
