喜欢 A lovely quiet little site with plans to be much bigger. As stated in the description there are no toilets or showers (yet) but there is water and a chemical point. Annie & Mark are lovely people and very helpful. Rabbits and foxes play at night, birds populate the surrounding trees and there is a river walk right next door so nature is all around. The pub is 2 minutes on foot, and sits on the river. The access is via a golf range, but it's signposted on the main road and the track is level. Although close to a main road the trees baffle most noise so its very peaceful. As a solo traveller, en route North, I felt perfectly safe and will come back next time I pass this way.

喜欢 Email with clear directions for arrival. Warm welcome. Flat pitch, on shredded rubber, in the arena. Toilet area basic but clean (in a stable unit that doubles as the yard laundry and storage) Pigs as neighbours, yes, actual, real pigs!! So cute!!

不喜欢 Nothing. Clearly stated what the facilities were in the description and everything was as stated. Nothing to complain about.

喜欢 A big open field where you can choose your site to pitch. Several showers, located in the field. A large facilities unit that is clean and well maintained, located in the yard next to the field. Wheeler's Wagon Cafe, which has food and drink available 7.30-5.30 - great value, decent coffee. The frappes and milkshakes are particularly good! The cafe is open to the public and locals use it - a good sign! Owners are friendly and helpful and there is a phone number posted for out of hours emergencies. The gate is locked at night and there is an access code you are given on arrival. Arrival time is earlier than many sites so lots of time to get set up and still have time to go out. Departure time is 11am, but can be flexible by arrangement. I felt safe as a solo female - I had booked Pond Field but it was empty, so they let me move my booking to Farm Field. Fire pits and picnic tables are available to use around the field, logs and kindling can be bought at the cafe for a reasonable price. The whole site is dog friendly, and there is a kids' play area in the field. Tent campers can park next to their tent. I really enjoyed my mid-week break as there were very few other campers (between Easter holidays and May Bank Holiday) so it was peaceful and nearest neighbours were a couple of hundred yards away!!

不喜欢 Some days there are planes overhead every few minutes, but not every day. Depends on Gatwick's approach vector that day. Some are quite low. Not an issue if you are able to filter noises out, but may be intrusive if you want peace and quiet. It didn't bother me, and it was only 1 day out of 3, but previous reviews have mentioned it.

喜欢 Quiet!! Lovely warm welcome and shown straight to pitch even though I was early. Well marked pitches. Logs and fire pits available if wanted. Facilities are clean and well maintained. 5 minutes from a supermarket. It will be a lovely place to visit in summer.

喜欢 Lovely location, and alpacas!! Nicely laid out site and able to choose my spot. Friendly and helpful team. Clean and well maintained facilities. You can buy food for the alpacas! Seems to be a popular fishing site. Very quiet at night. Did I mention the alpacas?

不喜欢 The facilities are several hundred yards down an unlit sloping track, so not good for someone with limited mobility. This is not mentioned in the main description but is in the reviews, so my fault for not checking!

喜欢 Lovely quiet site, birdsong, horses, solitude. Clean portaloos, shower room and washing up station. Pub 5 minutes walk away. Friendly owners. Felt quite safe camping alone.

喜欢 Clear and logical layout of site. New and well maintained amenities block. Friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly. EHU and grey waste on every touring pitch, water point every other pitch. Close to lots of places to visit - Berwick upon Tweed, Holy Island, Flodden Field - with places like Alnwick or Edinburgh close enough for a day trip. Great views and walks. Within walking distance of Coldstream - local shops, pubs, museum, garages, petrol station. Free WiFi, and consistently available (off season visit)

喜欢 Lovely peaceful site. Composting toilets are clean and regularly restocked. Wide spaces between hardstanding pitches and picnic benches add to the peaceful atmosphere. Owner very helpful. As it was February and very cold there were few tents, but they were well spaced out. Fire pits are available around the site. The washing-up hut is great. As a solo female I felt quite safe there, which has not been the case on some sites. Nice walk down to town, and some great pubs. The arrival and departure times are really flexible, especially good for someone who likes a nice slow start to her day!!

不喜欢 Chemical waste disposal hard to use for the shorter person (big square reservoirs with steps up and central aperture)
