喜欢 Ideal half way stop for us on the way down from Edinburgh. Just off the A1 - it's a quiet well maintained compact site (we've stayed a few times for good reason). The site owners are very friendly and helpful. Amenities - there is a local Co-Op - just a 10 min walk down the road to the village where there is also the Wensleydale Railway (check the timetables on their website - wensleydale-railway.co.uk/stations-leeming-bar) . If you like aircraft and ad-hoc air shows - RAF Leeming is close by also. Definitely recommend this site as a stop over location. We had a motorhome so if you are going to base yourself here which is ideally located for North Yorkshire etc - you will need a car.

喜欢 An impressive and grand tree-lined drive up to the holiday park with fantastic scenery and a stunning bridge.The site was tidy and well maintained, and we were warmly welcomed.. Pleasant walks along the Lowther River nearby. A large holiday park with a modest sized area for motorhomes and caravans, and a separate grass area for tents. Only one toilet block was available at the time of our stay but it was clean and had plenty of hot water for showering, there was even a bath! The pub wasn't open on the day we were there, but apparently doesn't serve food any longer anyway, so no big loss .The bakery was basic, but useful.

不喜欢 Eight pounds for two small dogs seemed rather excessive. I think it's the first site we've stayed at where we've been charged to have our fur family with us. Trees overhang the motorhome and caravan touring area. It wasn't particularly windy while we were there but the roof was continually being hit by cones and other bits of tree and bird poo from the crows that seem to inhabit the area. It rained lightly in the night and raindrops from branches made sleeping a problem. It's also an area for the RAF to practice low flying, which was thrilling but also meant an unplanned early morning wake-up alarm. Trees overhanging the touring area means we would think twice about returning sadly..we can only imagine how much worse it would be on a windy and rainy night. It is a difficult balance to get right for the park owners but most pitches elsewhere would not have overhanging trees. It's a shame because we were stunned by the beauty of the area and impressed by the site. Maybe we'll stop by another time, but not when wind and rain is forecast..

喜欢 Very clean and quiet site. Hazel and Jay very helpful when we arrived. Secure dog walking field on the other side of the road is great for pooches. Shower and toilet block very clean. We arrived during the week so the bar opposite wasn't open sadly.

不喜欢 Whilst this isn't actually a dislike - it would be helpful if the elsan disposal location was better signed (I stumbled across it) and the hose to rinse the toilet cassette was working.

喜欢 Lovely site. We came away to avoid the fireworks as we have 2 dogs. Site is quiet and well kept. Hosts of the site could not have been more helpful - they allowed us to move pitch and also helped us to dry out the carpets after the motorhome water tank split. Shower block lovely warm and clean and loads of hot water. Also a nice touch of music in the shower block (saves whisting :-)). Some folks have mentioned about the electicity being on a meter being an issue. It's really not a problem - we put enough on the meter to last a couple of days after taking local advice as to how much.The hosts said anything we didnt use would be refunded. Couple of pubs within 15 mins walking distance along the main road (pathed). Great walks into Retford along the Chesterfield canal - Baytree Bistro def worth a visit for a lunch (dog friendly) as it's right beside the canal (about 3 miles from campsite)
