Settle down in a quiet Spanish locale at Camping Bungalows Sierra de Gata in Cáceres. Set in a central spot in the Sierra de Gata mountain range, this site should be a wise pick no matter whether you prioritise outdoor activities or unwinding in front of a good view. This area's very well known for its natural beauty, as well as its tasty cuisine, natural pools and historic sites. Stroll in the nearby fields from here, or stay on site for dips in the pool (open during high season only) and restfully watching the kids expend all their energy in the paddling pool. Tasty meals for sitting in or taking away are covered at the site restaurant. If you’re not ready to eat just yet, head to the site's playground and games room. During the school holidays, the team also puts on entertainment and activities for kids. Camping Bungalows Sierra de Gata also has a mini market (open from May to the end of the season) and a laundry room. When it's time to explore the local area, the site is five minutes' drive away from the town of Gata, where there are additional grocery shops alongside stunning mountain views and tapas restaurants.

Acebo

The Sierra de Gata mountain range is a splendid one for planning holidays heavy on outdoor pursuits, as around here you'll be able to tackle rock climbing, canyoning, abseiling and canoeing. At a quieter pace, many walking and cycling trails are directly accessible from Camping Bungalows Sierra de Gata – ask the team to point you in the right direction – and activities such as paintball or quad excursions can be organised at reception. Elsewhere in the Cáceres province, visit its eponymous capital city, Cáceres‎ (an hour and 20 minutes' drive) and have other urban days out at Plasencia (an hour), Navalmoral de la Mata (an hour and 25 minutes) or Trujillo (an hour). Fancy a little wild swimming, too? Piscina Natural Puente de La Huerta is a minutes' walk from the site, and the busier natural pools of Piscina Natural de Hoyos and Natural pool Perales del Puerto are within five to 10 minutes' drive of the site.
