This is the place to be if your family loves being in and out of the water on holiday – as well as direct access to the beach on site, there are several other lovely beaches to try nearby, including Miami Platja (five minutes’ drive) and the sandy beaches in Cambrils (10 minutes). And there’s even more splashing to be done at the Aquopolis waterpark (20 minutes). Beyond that, you may also like to pack your swimming kit for a day at PortAventura (20 minutes) – the country’s top theme park has a waterpark area as well as all sorts of thrill rides, driving experiences and other rides for all ages. For other days out, try a trip to the Roman sites in and around Tarragona (20 minutes), a gentle stroll around Parc Samà’s botanical gardens (10 minutes) or hikes in the Serra de Montsant (an hour). A day trip to Barcelona may well be on the cards too – this characterful, colourful city is only about an hour and a half away by car and well worth the trip.
