In this life there are spectacular views and really, really spectacular views. If you’re interested in the latter, head up to the Huesca region’s tiny hamlet of Panzano and book in at Camping Cañones de Guara y Formiga. Sitting in shaded grounds planted with olive trees, this peaceful spot is at the foot of Tozal de Guara and surrounded by the mountains of Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park. There’s certainly plenty to keep everybody busy. You can drift around the swimming pool by day, sip cooling drinks from the bar or linger over leisurely restaurant dinners – and there’s a takeaway service too, if you’d rather eat en famille back at your accommodation. If you choose to go down the self-catering line, a communal kitchen and shared barbecues are offered too. The more active among you can get stuck into canyoning through the ravines along the Formiga River, or go hiking and mountain biking in the arid, rugged Sierra de Guara foothills. Finally, some practicalities: facilities cover spotless and accessible showers, a washing-up area and washing machine. And remote as the site appears, it’s still relatively easy to reach as the main N-240 is only 25 minutes’ drive away.

不喜欢 Revenir de promenade et trouver la tenté déplacé . Franchement pas terrible et pour arroser la pelouse alors qu’on repartait le lendemain matin ! Sérieux ça pouvait pas attendre ?? Pas possible de garer la voiture à l’emplacement à cause du système d’arrosage et la tente décalé sans prévenir et en plus mal replanter ! Très déçu

喜欢 We arrived late and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Facilities are excellent. Best shower experience on our travels so far. Beautiful pool 10 out 10. The pitches are very spacious and sheltered by walnut trees. We loved the frozen glasses of lemon beer. Food was also good. Great offroad trekking around this area.

喜欢 Wonderful campground! Owners were very kind and accomodating.
Bathroom and grounds kept very clean and maintained.
Lots of shade and decent sized pitches (we were in pitch 12).
Swimming pool was a highlight. Often we were the only ones there so it felt very luxurious. Toddler pool was a bonus.
Good WIFI connection.

不喜欢 Little far to travel up to the Pyrenees from here, but wonderful for exploring the pre-Pyrenees.
Kids playground area could benefit from a few additions.

喜欢 Un camping súper tranquilo, bien equipado y con las instalaciones muy limpias. Además con una ubicación excelente, envuelto de naturaleza y paisajes preciosos. Nosotros estuvimos dos noches y nos quedamos con ganas de pasar mas días allí, repetiremos seguro.

A myriad of bizarre rock formations can be seen at Rodellar (50 minutes’ drive), Vadiello (40 minutes, where there are also awesome views over the namesake dam) and Riglos (about an hour). Something else you won’t see every day is bearded vultures in their natural habitat at Loarre (55 minutes) – they are surprisingly tame and you can get quite close to observe them. The Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park is famed for its challenging canyoning along the Formiga River (15 minutes’ walk), family-friendly hiking in woodland and harder way-marked trails in the mountain foothills. Cyclists are well looked after too, with MTB, enduro, road and gravel routes throughout the park. If you need a day off from all that action, it’s worth having a potter around Panzano (direct access), overshadowed somewhat by Tozal de Guara, at 2077 metres the highest peak in the Sierra de Guara. Now with just a handful of residents, the village has a striking Romanesque-style church, a peaceful central square and the vibe of a bygone age.
