Gorgeous views, friendly people, plenty of peace and quiet… and all a mere 20-minute drive from Ljubljana. The list of selling points for Mažijev Grič is a lengthy one indeed – and there’s more to add to the above. The pitches at this Upper Carniola site are easily accessed from the motorway, and yet this is a place that’s all about the natural setting. Just outside the little village of Gradišče pri Lukovici, it’s got fabulous views over neighbouring Lake Gradišče, with lake access about 100 metres away for fishing, wild swimming and launching any paddleboards you may have brought along. The lake may well be the focal point, but the scenery in general is rather splendid around here – everywhere you look there’s lovely green hills and pastures, and there’s often a fair amount of wildlife to spot while you hike or ride bikes in the local area. It all adds up to a fantastic place to relax in rural surroundings – and if it sounds like the kind of place that your dog might also appreciate, you’ll be pleased to hear that four-legged guests are welcome on site. Such a pretty setting deserves to be preserved as much as possible, of course, so this site aims to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. With that in mind, the facilities here are fairly simple, but you’ll have access to toilets, a washing-up area and a chemical disposal point, and can buy a few items of local produce.

喜欢 Uns hat die Unterkunft sehr gut gefallen. Nicht nur wegen der schönen Lage, sondern auch, weil in den meisten Campingplätzen die Rezeption bereits um 20 Uhr schließt und die Schranke heruntergelassen wird. Wenn man sich verspätet, steht man dort schnell vor verschlossenen Toren. Hier hingegen kann man zu jeder Uhrzeit ankommen. Sogar nach Mitternacht. Was ideal ist, wenn man mit dem Wohnmobil oder wie wir mit dem Zelt spät am Abend anreist.

不喜欢 Die ToiToi-Toiletten waren völlig in Ordnung, allerdings gibt es tatsächlich keine Duschmöglichkeit. Das ist unserer Meinung nach der einzige Nachteil des Platzes. Wenn es zum Beispiel eine einfache Duschsäule gäbe, wie man sie von den Stränden kennt, selbst nur mit kaltem Wasser, wäre das ein großer Pluspunkt.

Places like Turistična vas Pristava (40 minutes) and Bogenšperk Castle (50 minutes) are handy options for some leisurely outdoor time, and those who are in search of a longer walk can head out to the scenic Velika Planina plateau (40 minutes to Kamniška Bistrica cable car). If you’ve not yet explored Ljubljana (20 minutes), it should certainly be on your schedule – top spots in this compact city include the castle, the pretty pink Franciscan Church and the Triple Bridge.
