Beach days, bike days, boat days… whichever gets your vote (perhaps a mix of all three?), you’ll be all set in the Zeeland surrounds of Vakantiepark De Zeeuwse Parel. This family-friendly park is right on the Eastern Scheldt estuary, a few metres from a sandy beach and just across the water from the De Pluimpot nature reserve, a popular area for hiking and cycling. Rent bikes from the site to get out and about, or have a go at some of the watersports on the estuary: just outside the grounds are a couple of spots for diving, plenty of space for sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, and a ramp for launching a boat. Not been able to bring a boat? Site staff have other ways of keeping you amused. Entertainment’s held Wednesday and Saturday afternoons in high season, and activities like barbecues, dance evenings and bingo are organised at weekends. Older kids might like to sign up to the activities organised on site, from crafts to laser games, while younger ones frolic at the playgrounds and sandpit. On top of all that, there's a leisure facility with padel courts and an interactive play wall, as well as a heated outdoor pool with a large sunbathing lawn and kids' pool. For more kid-friendly activity there’s also table tennis and a trampoline park – this latter in a particularly handy spot right by the pavilion terrace, meaning that grownups can snack and drink while supervising and nippers can be fed quickly when hunger sets in. Barbecues are allowed if you’d rather do your own cooking; pick up supplies from Scherpenisse or Sint-Maartensdijk (both about 10 minutes away by bike). For explores further afield, the park’s 15 minutes from Tholen, half an hour from Bergen op Zoom and a 35-minute drive from the famed seafood suppliers of Yerseke.

喜欢: Peaceful, easy to find, next to the beach.

不喜欢: Deposit for more then 200€. In the end I haven't see my money back. In my pack was included the cleaning and they charge me full deposit for a broken lamp and because they had to clean. They had to clean the sheets, which is normal after the client leaves the room, they remove the clean dishes from the machine and to they remove half of a plastic bin.Simply terrible way to take care the customer.

喜欢: Es war ein ganz toller Aufenthalt! Es war ruhig, sauber ordentlich und wirklich familienfreundlich. Wir hatten nix auszusetzen.

不喜欢: Leider gab es im Restaurant noch keine englische Menü karte, aber wir konnten uns mit Google behelfen, das Essen war aber sehr lecker

喜欢: Wir sind nur 1 Nacht geblieben, alles verlief reibungslos. Der Stellplatz war geschützt. Das kleine Indoor Spielparadies im Cafe/Restaurant fanden die Kids toll während der Wartezeit. Der Poolbereich hat auch seinen Zweck erfüllt. Insgesamt sehr auf Kinder eingestellt. Die Dame an der Rezeption sprach super Deutsch und war hilfsbereit, sie hat über die 20min Verspätung beim Check-out hinweggesehen. Nähe zum Meer war gegeben.

不喜欢: Stellplatz nicht so super eben, war okay; das Meer in der Nähe war nicht zum Baden geeignet, das geht aus der Beschreibung des Platzes nicht hervor

喜欢: Large and well equipped hard standing pitch with easy access to facilities. Short walk to the bar/restaurant which had a good menu. Great access to the local cycle network (we used this to pretty much cycle round the island).

Keen to cram in a goodly pile of outdoor activities? Take a turn around the pretty De Pluimpot nature reserve (10 minutes’ walk) or challenge yourself to something a tad more taxing by shinning up the walls at Climbing Brabantse Wal BV (25 minutes’ drive). Those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the floor may like to head to Crazy-Golf Bergen op Zoom (25 minutes) instead. Stick around in Bergen op Zoom for a wander among the traditional houses, climb De Peperbus tower and visit the Markiezenhof, a palace that dates from the Middle Ages and is said to be the oldest in all the land. If you’ve an eye for pretty towns, stop by in Tholen (15 minutes); for something rather more exotic aim for Berkenhof Tropical Zoo (40 minutes). And if it’s your tastebuds that tend to dictate your choice of days out, take a tour of the oyster beds in Yerseke (35 minutes), visit the seafood-themed museum and then feast at one of the village’s seafront restaurants.
