Take it easy in the Friesland countryside with a stay at Camping Eefting – this quiet site is part of a working equine farm where horses are reared, ridden and trained for general riding or show jumping. This isn't a place where you just have to watch the action from afar – you’ll also be able to join in with rides as lessons are available throughout the summer for all ages. It’s not all about the horses, though – you might equally choose to walk or cycle along local paths to see the scenery and farm animals, or wander to the Tjeukemeer, 500 metres away, for a swim or some watersports. The nearest town here is Joure, a 10-minute drive/25-minute cycle away – it’s best known for the balloon festival held here every July, but it’s also got a swimming pool, a play forest and boat rentals to keep you busy. Other places you might like to visit nearby include Sneek and the Drents-Friese Wold and Weerribben-Wieden national parks. This is a laidback site where the grass pitches are arranged around the edge of a field to leave space in the middle for kids to play (either on the playground and trampoline or setting up their own games). Facilities include bathrooms (with toilets, showers and baby bathrooms), a launderette, a washing-up area and wifi.

喜欢 Heerlijke camping, aardige mensen, schoon en leuk om zo een paar dagen dichtbij de paarden te zijn. Lekker dichtbij zwemwater en heerlijke omgeving voor fietstochten. De ballonfeesten waren een leuke verrassing.

喜欢 We had a superb relaxing holiday at Camping Eefting. Facilities were basic but clean and showers were free. Enjoyed being on a working farm with the horses too. Very quiet, safe and friendly site. The weather during our week became very hot but there are local places to swim and cool off! Very good value for money. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten track.

不喜欢 The thunderstorm and lightning overnight on the 19/20 June 2026 made for an interesting nights camping experience!

喜欢 Quel plaisir de séjourner ici ! Accueil chaleureux, bel emplacement sur l’herbe verte. Le gros + est de pouvoir cajoler les chevaux et de faire une initiation à l’équitation avec la si gentille fille des propriétaires. Un grand merci à toute la famille d’avoir contribué à la réussite de nos vacances .

喜欢 Ich habe mich für 3 Tage mit meinem kleinem Zelt auf diesem familiären und ruhigen Campingplatz sehr wohl gefühlt und nichts vermisst.
Einkäufe lassen sich auf Radtouren in die umliegenden Dörfern erledigen - am Campingplatz selbst gibt es dafür frische Eier zu kaufen. Das Tjeukemeer liegt auch nur ca. 500 m entfernt.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich von den Besitzern empfangen.
Hunde sind hier gar kein Problem

不喜欢 Toiletten sind nur 2 bei den Damen und1 Dusche, bei den Herren 2 Toiletten, 1 Behindertentoilette und 1 Dusche vorhanden.

Joure (10 minutes’ drive) is a handy place to have nearby – especially if you have kids to entertain. Speelbos Joure and the subtropical pool at Swimfun are both great family-friendly options in all weathers. Ballorig Heerenveen (15 minutes) and Trampolinepark Jumpstyle Drachten (25 minutes) are also good rainy-day choices, and there are fun animal encounters at Boer Bart play farm (10 minutes) and Pantropica (25 minutes), full of exotic flora and fauna. With two national parks nearby, there’s also the chance of spotting some wildlife while you’re out walking or cycling. Head to Drents-Friese Wold National Park to explore heaths, forests and drifting sands, or try Weerribben-Wieden National Park for lakes, canals and reed beds. Both are about 40 minutes’ drive away. Sneak a bit of history into the schedule with a trip to Sneek (20 minutes), an attractive Hanseatic town with some fabulous architecture like the Waterpoort, a good array of watersports to try and some great kid-friendly museums: the National Model Railway Museum and Frisian Maritime Museum.
