Organised expeditions from the site are the simplest way to see the best of your surrounds here: half day, full day and sunset cruises leave from the dock and tend to include lots of wildlife spotting opportunities, along with picnics or braais on a riverside beach. Fishing trips lead to local waters or up to 60 kilometres away depending on the best spots for the season. If local potterings have given you something of an appetite for more wildlife spotting, it's an hour and a half or so to drive to Mudumu National Park or over the border into Botswana for safaris in the Chobe National Park. Should you wish to continue your exploration of the Zambezi river, a drive of around two and a half hours will take you to its most famed sight, the spectacular Victoria Falls.
