There shouldn't be much difficulty in sourcing stuff to see and do in this spectacular part of Perugia. But if you find yourself dithering about just what to sample (for there really is mucho stuff to see and do), just find friendly owners Francesca and Daniela, who've run Camping Rio Verde for over a decade. The pair will happily share their many tips on the local region – top restaurants, local attractions and secret spots nearby all included. You could, for example, canter along to the horse riding centre within 100 metres to venture out into this splendid Umbrian countryside by horseback… or ask for advice on the many mountain bike and hiking trails in the immediate surroundings; the team can help you arrange your trips. The site is well set up for lazy Italian days too (eats and drinks mostly, but of course): the scent of freshly-baked bread, croissants and espresso wafts about in the morning, and the restaurant serves local specialties of organic produce, most from the Rio Verde veg garden and farm (fettuccine with truffle mushrooms, anyone…?). There's a wine shop too, for sampling the finest Italian vinos with your eats or later back at your berth in this peaceful wooded valley. Other facilities – should you stir from the restaurant and wine shop – include an outdoor pool, a food shop (again, but of course) and free wifi. For supplies and urban days, Camping Rio Verde is five kilometres from local village Costacciaro. Further afield, Perugia and Assisi are each within 55 minutes' drive.

喜欢 We had a wonderful stay at this campsite. The pitches are spacious and there is plenty of shade, which made our stay very comfortable, especially on warm days. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help. Because the campsite is relatively small, it has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that we really appreciated. The restaurant is also excellent, with delicious food and a lovely setting. We would definitely recommend this campsite and would love to come back!

不喜欢 One small point of feedback: the sanitary facilities were quite basic. They were clean and functional, but a bit more modern or comfortable would make the overall experience even better.

来自经理: gentilissimo Riccardo, ci dispiace per gli incovenienti che ha avuto!
la doccia: forse non ha seguito il mio suggerimento di farla nelle cabine che le avevo indicato, purtroppo quando vengono usate poco, il sistema necessita di premere piu volte il pulsante prima che arrivi l'acqua calda.
per quanto riguarda la wifi: abbiamo il sistema satellitare che ci garantisce 200 mega, con vari ripetitori che coprono circa 1 ettaro, essendo il camping molto alberato è possibile che alcuni posti più lontani non ricevono bene il segnale, ma nell'area del bar della piscina dei bungalows e della reception il segnale è molto forte. il posto che le avevo suggerito all'arrivo era coperto, mi spiace che non le ho fatto notare che cambiando avrebbe avuto una linea piu debole.
speriamo comunque che abbia ben riposato.

喜欢 Very friendly host who opened the restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner ( required to book in advance).
Some lovely walks around the farm/estate.
Very quiet.
Home made Estate Pasta for sale.
Facilities were immaculately clean.

不喜欢 Shower block a bit remote and as far as we could tell there was no hot water in the showers or sinks. Invigorating!

Attrezzato di tutto, piscina, passeggiate a cavallo,area giochi per bambini, ristorante, prodotti del territorio, servizi puliti! 喜欢 Beautiful natural setting. Quiet. Host was very pleasant.

不喜欢 We had difficulty getting a pitch long enough for our 9 meter rig. Also, the road up to the campsite had some rough and narrow spots which were hard for us to manoeuver.

Would recommend for a smaller motorhome or camper van.

siamo spiacenti che siate arrivati al momento della pausa pranzo della reception e non abbiate chiesto prima di sistemarvi. vi avremmo consigliato un posto servito da wifi e adatto al vostro camper. certo le forti pioggie non hanno favorito la situazione.
per quanto riguarda la strada di accesso al camping non dipende da noi ma dall'amministrazione comunale pur da noi spesso sollecitata a migliorare la strada.
peraltro sono venuti spesso pullman e grandi camper da 43 anni senza avere mai problemi.

cerchiamo di fare di tutto per mettere a loro agio i nostri ospiti, ci spiace che non abbiate potuto restare.

The small village of Costacciaro is most famed for the Monte Cucco caves, 10 minutes' drive or about 45 minutes' walk from the site, and open to the public for an 800-metre stretch. More caves are at Frasassi, 45 minutes away, where huge caverns are stuffed with stalactites and stalagmites and among the most famed caves in Italy. About an hour's drive will land you at Monte Catria, for cable cars up to its peak as well as a mountain bike park and hiking trails around its terrain. Kids will likely appreciate the adventure park at the mountain's top, with a huge playground, bouncy castle and lines for zipwiring. You could spend days horse riding, hiking or mountain biking around this section of Perugia countryside, but if you're up for city days (you should, for they're fab), drive along to Assisi to see its stunning Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, two castles and Roman amphitheatre. Gubbio (30 minutes) is home to the colourful race of the Corsa dei Ceri, held every May, and Fabriano (35 minutes) is well worth a look as one of Italy's two towns in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (the other is Bologna).
