They’re a modest lot at Campeggio Tre Lago. On the shores of little Ghirla lake, and within half an hour’s drive of the bigger Lugano and Maggiore, this luscious Lombardy site can indeed advertise triple aquatic attractions. It could equally add another seven bodies of water to the count too though, for this is Italy's lake district, where elegant old towns line the shores and wooded mountains hide waterfalls and ancient sanctuaries. You’ll be busy with all those lakes to get round, and the team at Campeggio Tre Lago have created a base that’s well set up for recharging in peaceful surroundings. With the waters of Ghirla a short wander away, you can spend whole days sunning, splashing, swimming and fishing without stepping into a car. That’s also true of more practical matters like mealtimes. Why interrupt lazy lakeside days with supermarket runs when you can stock up at the on-site shop or, for additional ease, sidle over to the restaurant for pizzas? If you do like a spot of DIY dining, shops are five minutes’ drive away in Ghirla and barbecues are allowed on site. For those folk not satisfied with lakeside basking and leisurely feasting, there’s a small swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts to get bouncing on, and a kids’ playground for climbing, sliding and swinging.

喜欢: Emplacement au libre choix (possible probablement car hors période): possibilité ombragé ou ensoleillé. Environnement et Sanitaires propres.

不喜欢: Un peu compliqué au niveau des douches... il faut avant de se déshabiller valider en extérieur (à l'autre bout du bloc sanitaire) le numéro de cabine sinon pas d'eau... du vécu. Nous n'avons pas été informé de la démarche à notre arrivée.

喜欢: Tout ! Le camping est Top. Un havre de paix au milieu de petites montagnes et au bord d’un lac avec plage privé. Sanitaires propres, accueil et équipe très sympathique, de beaux emplacements, bref rien à redire. Le meilleur camping que l’ont ait fait en Italie ! Très bon rapport qualité prix !

喜欢: Wir konnten den Platz wählen, weil nicht mehr viel los war. Freundliches Personal. Der See ist angenehm und idyllisch. Die Pizza ist lecker.

不喜欢: Toiletten sind ok, ab etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ausgegebener Zugang für wlan hat nicht funktioniert.

喜欢: Beautiful lakeside camping with a huge area to park. Lovely cafe and pizzeria with super friendly staff. Good showers and wash up facilities. The lake and a small pool, child friendly, to swim. Fresh bred and pastries daily.

不喜欢: Nothing to dislike, friendly and helpful.

喜欢: È stato una vacanza stupenda per noi. Come prima volta all'avventura con la tenda non volevamo andare troppo lontano da casa e abbiamo trovato un angolo di Paradiso. Posizione stupenda e rilassante. Il lago era stupendo, con la spiaggia e la piscina per i più piccoli. Viste spettacolari delle montagne Alpine che dividono l'Italia e la Svizzera. Staff di Tre Lago era favoloso. Tutti gentili e accoglienti, sempre disponibili. Speriamo di ritornarci presto. I servizi di pulizia erano eccellenti, e le piazzole per le tende erano pulite e livellate.

喜欢: Schöner, kleiner Platz an einem hübschen See. Freundliches Personal, solide Ausstattung und angenehme Atmosphäre. Schön ist die abgezäunte Liegewiese mit Badestelle am See und einem kleinen Kinderpool. Der Platz ist hundefreundlich und etwas abgelegen. Zu Fuß braucht man etwa 10 Minuten in den kleinen Ort. Mit dem Auto sind jedoch viele gute Restaurants erreichbar. Insgesamt ein schöner, kleiner Platz. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Besonderes Lob ans Personal des Bistros. Immer freundlich, gut gelaunt und hilfsbereit. Spitze!

喜欢: Nous avons aimé l'accueil et notre emplacement, dans un grand champ avec herbe.

不喜欢: Les sanitaires un peu vétustes, propreté assez moyenne. Quant au restaurant, très bonnes pizzas mais 1h 30 d'attente !!!

There's kayaking, windsurfing and boating galore on Lakes Lugano, Maggiore and Como (20 minutes’, half an hour’s and an hour’s drive away, respectively) plus walking and cycling trails around them; if you’ve spent the day in the hills, factor in time at the end for cooling dips and shoreside sundowners. For a quick introduction to the scenery, take the 10-minute trip to Ferrera di Varese: a short trail leads from the road to a clear lake formed as the waters of the Margorabbia river cascade through the Cunardo gorge. For bigger hikes up high, it’s half an hour to Laveno on the shores of Lake Maggiore, from where the funicular railway takes you into the trail-filled hills above. Also half an hour away, another funicular goes from the lower levels of the UNESCO listed Sacro Monte di Varese to the sanctuary at the top. It’s a cracking ride, making this sacred mountain site accessible to all, but the journey on foot ascending past 14 decorated chapels is well worth the blisters too. For a spot of city slicking an hour away, Como has a temple devoted to its most famed resident, who is not George Clooney... Visit Tempio Voltiano to learn about Alessandro Volta, inventor of the battery, tour the 14th-century frescoes in the Basilica, and after sailing round the silk museum, stock up on exquisite samples in the shops.
