Yup, that Monza – the one Formula 1 fans will no doubt have seen on the telly many times over the years. It’s a cinch to visit the circuit in real life if you’re staying at Monza Camping, for it’s pretty much right next door.
There’s way more to Monza than merely motorsport, though: stay here and you’ll be within the walls of the Royal Park of Monza, a short amble from a riding school, a golf course, an adventure park and guided tours of the swish Villa di Monza. There are loads of scenic walks and bike rides to be had in the park for serenity seekers, while those who prefer urban wanderings can hit central Milan by public transport in less than an hour.
Wherever you’ve roamed by day, easy refuelling awaits on site at the bar-restaurant where you can have dinners of burgers or grilled fish, or sip cold beers out on the terrace. Further restaurants and cafés are a short walk away, as is a supermarket for those who need barbecue bits and other supplies.

Wander out into the park from your pitch and you’re within easy reach of walking trails, riverside bike rides, a golf course, a riding centre and the treetop trails of the Monza Adventure Park. Tours are available at the motor racing circuit and Villa di Monza, and there are frequent music festivals and other events around the park.
For town times, a bus can whisk you to the historic centre of Monza in around half an hour, or to Milan in just under an hour for museums, gorgeous architecture, excellent restaurants and perhaps just a little bit of shopping. If you’re lusting after lakeside days, Bellagio and Como are both less than an hour away by car.
Those with bambini to keep busy may like to consider days out at Acquaworld waterpark or the Leolandia amusement park, both of which are within a half-hour drive.
