Immerse yourselves in the rural lifestyle of Liguria with a stay at Agricamping Lo Zafferano – pitches here are part of a family-run farm that specialises in maintaining and rediscovering traditional and forgotten varieties of fruit and veg from the area. You may well spot various unusual crops as you stroll around the site, where you’ll also encounter an olive grove and meet the resident horses. Kids can learn a little bit about the growing process at the educational farm, and everyone can have a go at riding through the local landscapes from a ranch a couple of kilometres away (have a chat with the team on site to put you in touch if you’re interested). The quiet atmosphere here is very much one of rural seclusion, but in fact the farm is well located for town amenities and days out too – a bus stop and grocery store are 500 metres away (and you can often buy local products like honey, oil, eggs and wine at the farm too). The historic centre of Albenga is about five minutes’ drive away and it’s a similar distance to the closest beaches as well. Pitches at this site are spacious and welcoming to all sorts of guests, including families and those travelling with dogs. Facilities include a playground, a communal outdoor cooking and dining area and wifi across the site, and you can hire bikes here too.

喜欢 The most amazing place. We had a problem with the brakes in our campervan and the owner Daniele called and booked us in to a local mechanic. Miriam came with us to the garage and helped with everything. She drove us back and forward to the garage. Dropped us off at the bus stop and found an apartment for us when the van was in the garage overnight. We were so looked after and we will never forget how much we were helped. The site is lovely. Big spacious pitches. The chickens, ducks and geese will all visit you. The shower facilities were so clean. We were so sad when we had to leave. We will definitely be back.

喜欢 What a gem! Beautiful setting with a river running alongside. The campsite was clean and peaceful. The camp has an eco ethos so they tell you quite clearly to expect wildlife and that the showers run on solar panel but we loved everything. There was an amazing walk up through the forest to Rita’s pizzeria and although it was quite a trek it was beautiful. We paddled with the dog in the stream to cool down. We just wish we had stayed longer!

不喜欢 Not a dislike but be aware that the road to the site is quite remote and rural. We have off road tyres on our camper so it was fine but low or larger vehicles might find it a bit tricky.

当地景点

This area is a wonderful place to explore on foot or by bike – there are several scenic hiking trails nearby, including the Via Julia Augusta, and places where you can find some challenging mountain bike descents. Nearby Pennavaire Valley (10 minutes’ drive) and Castelbianco (15 minutes) are well known as free climbing destinations, and you can get underground at the three caves of Grotte di Toirano (15 minutes). For more of a gentle stroll, set off instead to Albenga (five minutes) to explore its historic centre, including a Romanesque cathedral, a collection of medieval towers and a whole lot of streets and plazas to wander around. There are also some good museums here, including a naval museum that houses the remains of a 1st-century ship. If you’re after a beach day, you could settle on the pebbly beach in Albenga or travel south to Alassio (10 minutes) for a longer stretch of sand. Aquatic Park Le Caravelle (five minutes) is another option for a swim, with lots of waterslides to scream down as well.
