Budding archaeologists and art historians, this site has your name written all over it: Agricamper Villa Julia Pompei sits on the edge of the ancient city of Pompeii – the entrance to the Archaeological Park can be reached within a five-minute drive. If you play your cards right and make your move immediately after an early breakfast, you might well be the first person in when the gate opens. But the proximity to this important artistic and archaeological site is only one of the reasons to commend this peaceful site – the other major one being its location at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. Being greeted by views of the volcano first thing in the morning is a pretty special feeling. Spacious grass and gravel pitches occupy a large garden surrounded by citrus groves, and the site comes with a number of family-friendly amenities, including a parent-and-baby washroom, a barbecue station and shaded dining areas, plus a pétanque court (they call it ‘bocce’ here) and a TV room. A toilet block with facilities for disabled guests, showers and a washing-up area complete the picture. Dogs are welcome here, and the site owners will be happy to pick you up from the train station of Villa Regina, which links to Naples to the north (half an hour by railway) and Sorrento to the south (40 minutes). There are several supermarkets within a 10-minute drive… but why cook your own food when you’re in one of the most gastronomically interesting regions of Italy? The modern town of Pompei (10 minutes’ drive) has plenty of pizzerias and restaurants serving Neapolitan specialities.

喜欢: Un très bon accueil, le personnel prévenant et toujours avec le sourire et soucieux du bien être des campeurs.
Les sanitaires très très propres.
Le terrain très bien entretenu.
Le wifi gratuit.
L'accès à la gare Villa Regina à 15 mn à pieds pour Naples, aux vestiges de Pompéi à 20 mn à pieds.
Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour et nous recommandons la Villa Julia.

喜欢: Met de gehele voorziening, de ruime en keurig nette plekken met fijne bomen voor de schaduw, het sanitair, prima en dagelijks keurig schoon, maar vooral ook de gastvrije eigenaar, die ook nog een een heerlijk glaasje limoncello maakt en schenkt.

喜欢: The camp field is literally looking up at Vesuvius. It I was quiet only 10-15 other outfits on site.
Owner was helpful with directions and the roads to avoid.he sends you the best directions for the camp.
The ruins of Pompeii are wonderful, buy tickets in advance and give yourself a day to get around it.

不喜欢: Despite the directions sent by the owner our sat nav sent us up a very narrow road on the approach to camp with lots of fly tipping along it, not the owners fault, do follow his instructions.

不喜欢: Showers has very low water pressure. No chance of washing long hair properly! The new showers and toilets are clean but 4 toilets and 4 showers for such a large site seems low.

喜欢: Ein kleines Paradies im Großraum Neapel in dem wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Dank der Wegbeschreibung von Pasquale war die An-/Abfahrt mit einem 8 m WoMo über 3m Höhe auch gut zu meistern.
Pompeji und Zug mit Anschluss nach Neapel od. Sorrent zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Pasquale ist sehr hilfsbereit und hilft bei Fragen. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und sauber.
Wer den Vorschlag aus den Bewertungen beachtet kann auch warm Abspülen.

The Archaeological Park of Pompeii is known for the colourful frescoes of the Villa dei Misteri, the well-preserved mosaics of the House of the Faun and assorted temples. The vast site, which was buried by lava and burning ash spewing out of Vesuvius in 79 AD, also includes the Antiquarium Museum, displaying artefacts unearthed at the site. Built in the late 19th century, the vast Santuario della Beata Vergine Maria del Santo Rosario di Pompei (five minutes’ drive) can hold more than 2,000 people in its richly decorated interior dominated by a gilded organ. Exhibits in the Diocesan Museum include votive offerings. If you fancy a hike (or if you want to see up close what led to the destruction of Pompeii), Vesuvio National Park (25 minutes) has a network of trails, including one crossing the ominously named Valley of Hell. Keep your eyes peeled for foxes and bats, plus peregrine falcons and marsh harriers.
