A family-friendly site with direct access to an Ionian Sea beach. What more could you ask for? Perhaps a restaurant and bar so you don’t have to worry about cooking for the family? You’ll get both when you stay at Camping Le Due Barche, 10 minutes’ drive from Scanzano Jonico in rugged Basilicata. Yes, the beach is 50 metres away from the site down a paved path, without any roads to cross so it’s safe and accessible for everyone. There’s lots of space on this sweeping crescent of soft sand and the water is very shallow, making it ideal for kids just getting their sea legs. This site offers large, tree-shaded pitches with electric hook-ups available, on grounds landscaped with cacti and driftwood from the sea. You’ll have peace and quiet in abundance – all the better for relaxing with a book outside the on-site library – as well as views over the bay from the café/bar (takeaways are available by the way), and there’s a well-stocked food shop if you’d rather go down the self-catering line and spark up a barbecue. Other facilities include ample free parking and a spotless amenities block with bags of hot water for the showers so you can rinse off salt and sand from the beach.

喜欢 Campeggio allestito con materiali e suppellettili naturali. Molto attrattivo dal punto di vista estetico nella parte dedicata al bar e al minimarket. Poca ombra, se non assente, nelle zone comuni. Le piazzole sono ampie e senza divisori tra vicini e rimangono areate e fresche. Il mare è facilmente raggiungibile in pochi passi. C'è sia il lido a pagamento sia la spiaggia libera ampia e non molto frequentata nemmeno in pieno agosto.
Mare pulito; spiaggia meno se ci si addentra tra un lido e un altro dove c'è meno folla (c'è l'immissione di un fiumiciattolo molto sporco che rovina molto paesaggio e ambiente marino). Musica lounge alla sera.

Il ristorante offre piatti di pesce - sempre uguali - che, durante il nostro soggiorno di una settimana circa, hanno creato problemi ad alcuni campeggiatori, noi compresi. Minimarket poco fornito per prezzi alti. Tabacchi disponibile solo a 3 km di distanza, verso il paese. Salta spesso la corrente, soprattutto per mezzi molto accessoriati. Non c'è attacco acqua in piazzola. Docce incommentabili. Viste quelle, non abbiamo frequentato i bagni veri e propri.

喜欢 Camping molto tranquillo ottimo per le famiglie e per chi vuole stare tranquillo! Piazzole ombreggiate e spaziose. Per quanto riguarda bagni e doccia li abbiamo trovati sempre puliti. Di sicuro ci ritorneremo.

喜欢 We had a place very close to the sea. Seaview. The Beach was not busy in the middle of June, clean and the sea clear.
The sanitary facilities were kept very clean.

You’ll find more than just beaches when you holiday in untamed Basilicata. Wildlife lovers can see rescued turtles in the sanctuary at WWF Policoro Herakleia (20 minutes’ drive), and there are forested walking trails to dramatic waterfalls in Parco Nazionale del Pollino (40 minutes). If you’d like to get some serious hiking in, the Lucanian Dolomites (an hour) offer steep climbs with spectacular views over craggy mountains. There are ancient temples, a theatre and remains of a garrison to inspect at the Parco Archeologico dell’Area Urbana di Metaponto (25 minutes), where signs of a large Greco-Roman city scatter over 150 hectares. The National Archaeological Museum of Siritide (15 minutes) has a sterling collection of local finds, with VR exhibits that will appeal to kids. Further afield, you can explore the intriguing ‘sassi’ cave houses and admire the medieval frescoes in St Lucia alle Malve rock church at Matera (55 minutes), a stunning hill town made famous by a certain James Bond movie. Alternatively, head up into the hills to Craco (45 minutes), a village slowly crumbling into ruins after being abandoned in the late 20th century.
