Relaxed rural days, or skipping off for some city time – either one is as easy as, well, ABC for guests at Schleswig-Holstein site Campingplatz ABC. Aiming for the former? You need go no further than the site’s own lake beach, on the banks of the Großensee, with a sandy area for sunbathing or games of beach volleyball and access to the clean natural waters for swims. Behind the beach is a sizeable wooded area that’s likely to be enticing for those who need an escape from the sun or just fancy a snooze in the shade. Carry on that country vibe by heading out into the surrounds for hiking, golf, horse riding and other outdoorsy pursuits, or sticking around on site for eats on the restaurant’s lakeside terrace. If you’ve something else in mind on the food front, there’s also a snack kiosk on site and three restaurants and a bakery within strolling distance (plus bigger shops three kilometres away in Trittau for self-catering supplies). And when it’s time to trade all this for some urban outings? It’ll take half an hour or so in the car to head over to Hamburg for jaunts around Germany’s buzzy second city.

喜欢 This is a lovely, family-run campsite where the warmth of the welcome and genuine hospitality make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Set in a beautiful location in the heart of a charming village, it strikes the perfect balance between peaceful surroundings and convenient amenities.

One of the highlights of our stay was the village bakery. Each morning brought an irresistible display of freshly baked breads, pastries, and cakes, along with ready-made rolls that were perfect for taking on our day’s adventures.

The campsite is also perfectly positioned beside a beautiful lake with lifeguards on duty and a pontoon, making it an ideal place to relax, swim, or simply enjoy the scenery. During our stay, Germany were playing in the World Cup, so there was a wonderful sense of community and celebration as the match unfolded. While there were enthusiastic cheers when goals were scored, the atmosphere quickly returned to being calm and peaceful afterwards—a testament to the consideration shown by both the campsite and its guests.

喜欢 Good access to lake. Facilities were basic but clean. Good local Italian restaurant beside the site

不喜欢 Site was unkempt and 4-5 old tatty caravans were being used by a road gang working locally, who were also using the showers and laundry. Access to the site was closed off by the roadworks, which resulted in us having to take a 20mile diversion. Site and facilities were tired and in need of refurbishment. Too far outside Hamburg to be a reasonable base for tourists

来自经理: Thank you for your feedback and for mentioning the positive aspects of your stay, including the lake access, cleanliness and nearby restaurant.

We are sorry that your visit coincided with temporary roadworks in the area. The construction had only just started at the time and alternative routes were unfortunately not yet clearly signposted. This situation was temporary and outside our control.

A small number of project-related long-term guests were also staying on a limited section of the campsite for a short period. This was an exceptional temporary situation and has since ended.

Our campsite is regularly chosen by guests visiting Hamburg and is one of the closest campsites to the city with convenient public transport connections. Many guests appreciate the combination of easy Hamburg access and a quieter natural setting.

We regret that these temporary circumstances affected your overall impression and hope to welcome you again under normal conditions.

Where to start in Hamburg (half an hour away by car)? Well, it depends on your tastes… there are more than 50 museums and a swanky new concert hall for cultural types; boat tours, an excellent zoo and the Miniatur Wunderland model town for families; and stacks of street art and cool cafés for those with hipster tendencies. On top of that, the city’s markets and restaurants are stuffed with tempting things to eat. After all the excitement of the city, spend some time closer to base playing a round at Golf-Club Großensee (five minutes' drive), horse riding from Hoisdorf (10 minutes) or heading to the Lütjensee (10 minutes) for a high ropes course and more lake swims. If the nippers are demanding more activity, there’s a great indoor playground at Indoo Park (15 minutes) and a chance for them to scramble up the walls at Kletterwald Hamburg climbing park (20 minutes). To keep the outings ground-based, check out the machines at Schleswig-Holstein Motor Museum (five minutes) or take off to see the turrets of arty Ahrensburg Palace (15 minutes).
