Ja, the Jadebusen… Jade Bay on the northern German coast between the city of Wilhelmshaven and the municipality of Bremerhaven/Cuxhaven is a bit of a diamond: its wildlife haven setting means it's part of the German Wadden Sea National Parks, and the sea temperature here reaches up to 25C for those who fancy North Sea dips and swims.
Right on the bay and in Wesermarsch is Höpkens Hof & Campingplatz, a small and privately-owned campsite where the owners have made it their mission to give golden customer service to all guests whatever their age (or species: as the friendly owners point out, pets are part of the family and so are most wilkommen on site too).
Your little gems can let loose at the excellent adventure playground (there be tractors) while the bigger folk get dinner sorted at the barbecue area; if you want to be dished up some full-on proper German food (and beer), the town of Varel is about 15 minutes' drive away.
As well as being only a few minutes' drive from the North Sea coast, the area is well-established cycling territory, so hire a bike on site and pedal along to the beach in under ten minutes, or take the wheels out for the day around the many tracks and trails of the Wesermarsch.

These are peaceful parts, so again, hire a bike and take it out for gentle days seeing the local scenery and the North Sea coast. Two old windmills, museums and the Jaderpark zoo and amusement park are all within easy reach: pick up discount tickets to these from the Höpkens Hof & Campingplatz team.
Varel, about 15 kilometres south of Wilhelmshaven and near the Jade River, has an eighteenth century castle, nineteenth century windmill, a heritage museum and spectacular town and port views from its old water tower (do stick around in the evening for a proper German meal and flagon too).
Also within driving distance is the old city of Oldenburg, 32km from the site, and the town and neighbouring lake of Bad Zwischenahn, within about 33 kilometres.
