Campingplatz Asel Süd

The countryside surrounding Campingplatz Asel Süd and in the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park is cracking for outdoor activities, such as the cycling available for all ages and skill levels, swimming, hiking, canoeing and fishing: the fishing is prime here in the many local ponds and streams. The Kellerwald-Edersee National Park to the south of Edersee is a wilderness area where the beech forests are so ancient they're part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a hugely popular place in Germany for walking, cycling and watersports on its 27km lake: bask at the beach, bike around the shoreline on the Eder Cycle Route, fish in secluded bays, roam its 50 or so hills, or head deeper into the park to spot wild boars and 14 species of bat at the Edersee Forest Walk. Several other parks (and playgrounds) are also around for the kids to tire themselves out at for hours: try Habicht Forest, Habichtswald Nature Park and Wilhelmshöhe Mountain Park.
