This is a handsome Haute-Savoie location indeed… take a quick look through the pics and you’ll notice a rather magnificent mountain backdrop to the pitches at Camping Onlycamp Les Thézières, a site 300 metres above sea level. But that’s not all, because this site also has the Foron river running along its edge and is a short walk from the banks of both the Giffre river and Lac de Flérier. All of that adds up to a very attractive spot for a relaxing break – and a peaceful one too, with spacious pitches shaded by trees and much of the site filled with colourful flowers. The pretty views are backed up by a solid collection of practical facilities, including a launderette, a washing-up area, a chemical disposal point and bathrooms with toilets and showers. The site has a play area, a pétanque court and a ping pong table to help keep the kids busy, but it’s likely that you’ll spend much of your time out and about when staying here – this is a fabulous area for visiting traditional villages or trying outdoor activities, whether that’s skiing, snowshoeing and dog sledding in winter or hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and canyoning in summer. The Praz de Lys resort, where the top elevation is 2,000 metres, is only 20 minutes' drive away from base. Despite the quiet and scenic setting, this site is also a very convenient one for things like food – it’s just on the edge of the village of Taninges, so you’ll be within walking distance of a supermarket, bakery and several places to eat. Bigger Cluses is 15 minutes’ drive away, and Annecy and Geneva are both about an hour away.

喜欢 Large site with suitable pitches set in a nice location. Staff member we dealt with spoke English, was helpful and polite.

不喜欢 The showers and toilets are very dated to say the least. Also, for some reason, maybe the end of the season the men and women were sharing the same shower block which put my partner off using the facilities as she felt uncomfortable. The showers themselves were not the cleanest, and very outdated, the water like warm at best. The toilets were pretty awful, heavily stained, no toilet paper, no toilet seat, and no hand soap. The facilities definitely need updating.

喜欢 Everything. This site is beautiful with spectacular views all around and lovely walks nearby. The motorhome pitches are fairly level and of a good size. The facilities are a little dated but kept lovely and clean. The staff are welcoming and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

喜欢 camping agréable et calme. toilette et wc abordable mais pas trop au goût du jour.

不喜欢 un des gérant n'est pas très agréable avec sa façon de parler à la clientèle.

喜欢 Beautiful and peaceful campsite surrounded by nature. The pitches are spacious, green, and well-maintained, with plenty of shade and a wonderful view of the mountains. The sanitary facilities are clean, and the showers have warm water. The campsite also offers a laundry room and three concrete charcoal barbecues. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the staff is friendly, and the location is excellent – only about an hour’s drive from Geneva. We really enjoyed our stay.

不喜欢 Most showers have fixed temperature settings, but the water is warm enough. Hand soap dispensers in the sanitary blocks were empty. The toilets don’t have seats or lids. Waste sorting could be better marked, and not everyone at the reception speaks English fluently. Those dislikes were minor anoyances to us.

Exploring on foot or two wheels is a fabulous idea if you’re here in summer. Gentle strolls and bike rides might take you on a circuit of Lac de Flérier (15 minutes’ walk) or along the easygoing Au fil du Giffre riverside green route. For more extensive hikes, try the Marcelly Loop or the circular trail at Plateau de Loëx (both half an hour’s drive). Other ways to take in your surroundings include horse riding, rafting, paragliding and canyoning – the team at reception can put you in touch with trusted providers. In winter, Praz de Lys Sommand (20 minutes) is the place to take your skis, and there are also dog sledding lessons and snowshoeing outings nearby. For a gentler day out, learn about snail farming at l'escargotière d’Arno (five minutes), see a fabulous collection of clocks at Musée de l'horlogerie et du décolletage (15 minutes) or wander through the botanical garden at Jaÿsinia (20 minutes). You could also have a day in Annecy (an hour) to kayak on the lake, stroll through the pretty streets and see the famed Le Palais de I’Île.
