If you’re considering a stay at Camping Parc Valrose you’ll be needing it to tick off a whole heap of boxes on your holiday wishlist… For starters, there’s the cracking Côte d’Azur setting, surrounded by the Massif des Maures hills and in three hectares of well-tended and peaceful parkland with plenty of breathing space. Couple this with pleasingly easy access from the D98 main road and town amenities five minutes’ drive away in La Londe Les Maures and that’s surely several ticks notched up already… And bonus points for being a mere 10 minutes’ drive from beaches too – just far enough away to escape the crowds. Family-friendly facilities galore should give that box-ticking pen a further workout: a heated outdoor pool, pétanque court, games room and multilingual library should keep all ages merrily occupied on site; during the summer hols there’s also the added distraction of weekday kids’ club activities, weekly teens’ antics and evening ents a few times a week. Clown shows and karaoke happen to be on your wishlist? Get a tick by those, tout de suite. Fab food must surely be a requirement for all French hols, and of course Valrose comes up trumps here too: throughout the summer the bar-restaurant will serve up local dishes and a range of drinks, or provide you with a pizza to take away. Other snacking needs are taken care of by the shop or the kindly local baker, who swings by with fresh bread and pastries each morning.

As you’ve come to the Côte d’Azur, it’s a fair guess to suggest that you might be after a beach or few. Well, there are more than a few to pick from: once you’re done with Miramar (10 minutes’ drive), L’Argentiére (10 minutes), L’Estagnol (15 minutes) and Cabasson (15 minutes), hit the local harbours for day trips to the gorgeous islands of Porquerolles, Port Cros and l'Île du Levant. Like a bit of activity along with your sandy days? There are plenty of watersports options down at the coast, including a sailing school, boat hire, jetskis and parasailing. No doubt the kids will also note the Aquaboom amusement park, right there on the beach with trampolines, giant slides and inflatables. Leave the beach behind for a bit to meet exotic beasts at Jardin Zoologique Tropical (five minutes’ drive), zoom around the Speedkart track (20 minutes), or head into the hills for a game of golf (10 minutes). If you’re up for village wanders, the pink tiles and floral displays of Bormes-les-Mimosas (15 minutes) make it a particularly pretty place; for something glitzier, St Tropez is 45 minutes away.
