Lovely Lake Lavaud, the biggest lake in the Poitou-Charentes at nearly 500 acres, is a place for boating, sailing, fishing and canoeing as well as for birdwatching: over 170 species have been spotted from its shores. And lovely Camping des Lacs is so short a walk (100 metres) from the lakeside that a good part of the site has views overlooking it. If you need more water on your holiday, the site is also just a minute's walk from Guerlie beach. Camping des Lacs has modern facilities to suit all sorts of guests from families and couples to solo travellers: there are both indoor and outdoor pools (the indoor one is heated to 28°C for swimming in all weathers), as well as a paddling pool for kids to safely splash around. Both pools are equipped for guests with reduced mobility. Sporty guests can make use of the volleyball and badminton courts, the pétanque area and the nearby hiking and biking trails. Other facilities include a snack bar and restaurant dishing up tasty meals at decent prices, a games room, an amenities block with toilets and hot showers, and a washing-up area. A grocery shop selling daily essentials is a 300-metre walk from the site; a beach snack bar, a restaurant and an English pub are all nearby.

喜欢 Huge pitch size. Clean toilet/shower facilities. Washing machines were handy. Immaculate site, plenty to do for children. Beach on the lake is great, with a bar restaurant just behind to soak up the views over a refreshing drink. Staff were friendly and helpful.

喜欢 Amazing sized pitches. Lovely clean showers and toliets. Although only a few didn't have to wait at all. Cute family facilities with small toliets and great disabled facilities. Hot water all the time. Swimming pool basic but great for an hour dip. Lake 3 min walk from campsite with lifeguards and sand. Cycled all the way around with 2 cafe stops. Definitely would recommend this site. Nice touch of key fob for gate with keyring of pitch number and a bottle opener!

不喜欢 Swimming pool lining has moved so ridges in places. Could be a problem for disabled people. Also changing rooms could do with a clean through the day as you have to walk through them to get to pools.
Shop could have freezer section for few dinner options as supermarket 15mins away drive. None of this would stop us returning!

喜欢 Baŕ ⛱️ on the beach good and the bar on the other side of the lake was very good and had groups on and food.

不喜欢 Internet only at reception and bar.
Supposed to have 3 pools, no they were paddling pools for the kids and sunbeds broken to the point of dangerous.
Toilet/shower not very good and chemical Toilet disposal in-between 2 pitches glad we were not on them

喜欢 Große Zeltplätze, schön eingewachsen mit Hecken. Sehr nette andere Gäste, alle sehr entspannt und tolle Athmosphäre. Wirklich toll gelegen am See mit Strand. Pool überdacht, herrlich, wenn die Sonne stark scheint oder der Wind frisch weht. Sanitäranlagen sauber und regelmäßige Reinigung. Sanitäranlagen für Kinder.

This is the land of the green and the outdoors: the Charente Limousine and Haute Vienne regions are known for their scenic green landscapes and their outdoors activities like hiking, cycling and horse riding trails, all in a handsome natural setting. Get out on the hoof via the two equestrian centres on the lakeside where you can canter around on horse or pony, or go out onto the water at the watersports centre with canoe, windsurf, kayak, paddleboard, rowing boat and catamaran hire as well as lessons for those who need them. The lakes of the Haute Charente are popular in the area for fishing (you'll need a fishing licence) and for watery activities like sailing, kayaking and canoeing. Lake Lavaud, a short walk away, is a big pull for twitchers because of the many bird species spotted here over the years, as well as for boaters and watersporters: dinghies, canoes and kayaks are all available to hire at the lake's boat centre and instructors are available if you're new to the art.
