Which is the place for you: a quiet tree-lined site on the banks of a river, or a handy spot in a town, where you’ll be within easy reach of shops, places to eat and other amenities? How about both all rolled into one excellent location – because that’s what you’ll get at Camping du Lion d’Angers. This Anjou Bleu site is indeed in a pretty parkland location on the banks of the Oudon river, with pitches set among the trees and access to the river for fishing and launching canoes or kayaks. It’s also just on the edge of the small town of Le Lion-d’Angers, putting you within a few minutes’ walk of restaurants, bars, shops, banks and bus stops. From this convenient location it’s easy to get out and explore the area, perhaps cycling along La Vélo Francette bike path, taking a stroll around L'Isle Briand Park or heading out to visit vineyards, castles and cute villages. Angers and Terra Botanica are both within a half-hour drive too, for more day-trip options. All in all, this is a pretty fine location for a holiday – and the setup on site is equally excellent, with a good cluster of facilities including a small shop, a snack bar, a launderette and a wifi service (at reception). There are facilities for games of volleyball and badminton on site, along with a chillout room with a TV and board games. Just across the road is a play area where kids can let off steam and perhaps dare themselves to ride the 300-metre zipline.

喜欢: Absolutely beautiful site. We received a warm and friendly welcome - the couple were both very helpful, friendly and informative.
The site is in beautiful grounds and the facilities - showers, toilets and wash basins are immaculate.
Very close to the town for amenities- lovely patisserie, boulangerie and Boucher - we bought some fantastic top quality produce.

喜欢: La proximité du Mondial du Lion et les installations bien que nous ne pouvions pas être sur l’herbe pour la quantité de pluie des derniers jours

不喜欢: Les horaires pour rentrer 22 h ce qui rend impossible d’aller dîner et le peu d’amabilité du responsable à notre retour d’un dîner. Je n’ai jamais vu dans aucun camping des horaires d’entrée

Merci pour votre retour. Nous sommes navrés que les conditions météorologiques aient rendu le terrain humide, ce qui, malheureusement, est indépendant de notre volonté. Malgré cela, nous avons fait de notre mieux pour vous déplacer sur un emplacement plus favorable, en pleine période d'affluence avec le Mondial du Lion.
Concernant les horaires, vous étiez informé de ceux-ci dès votre arrivée et ils sont spécifiés. Rentrer à 00h30 n'a pas respecté les règles de savoir-vivre et de calme en camping. Nous espérons que vous comprendrez qu'être réveillé à cette heure tardive a été perturbant pour nous.

喜欢: The location - both the site which is flat and lovely and open, and the town which is absolutely stunning, ensured a lovely short stay. The pitches are flat and hard. Access roads and water and electric plentiful, and the facilities are 5 star

不喜欢: I was unlucky being at the end of the season... The amount of work on the hedge around the site with multiple full size trucks, a digger and dump truck was unreasonable on an open site. The otherwise very peaceful site was completely not peaceful because of this. Next time this amount of work is needed, the site should be shut.

The grass around my pitch was so stoney getting pegs in for the awning was tricky. Bring good pegs and a good mallet!

喜欢: Great facilities and perfect for travelling through France, it was a pleasant surprise as facilities all looked brand new. Staff were great and the addition of bar and snacks on site a real plus.

喜欢: A lovely quiet and friendly site. The site was really clean and the facilities were always really clean. The bar and cafe on the edge of the river were a real bonus on a Sunday evening as the town was very quiet, with not a lot open.

If you’re here to soak up lots of fresh air, you may like to start at L'Isle Briand Park (10 minutes’ walk), a popular place for a stroll. On warm days, head to Baignade de Marigné (15 minutes’ drive), the starting point for the 12-kilometre Papillons hiking trail and with the promise of a swim from the lake beach at the end. Meanwhile, at Anjou Sport Nature (15 minutes) you can sign up for various activities like treetop trails, treasure hunts and archery. For an outdoor day with a twist, head to Terra Botanica (20 minutes), a plant-inspired theme park with various shows and attractions, or meet the exotic residents of Le Jardin Des Kangourous (half an hour). If it’s not outdoor weather, head 126 metres underground on the mining train at La Mine Bleue (25 minutes). You’ll get a good taste of history wandering around the streets of Angers (25 minutes) and stopping by at its château and fine arts museum. Appetite for more châteaux? Visit Château du Plessis-Bourré (15 minutes) or Château de Serrant (half an hour).
