Since taking over in June 2014, owners Julie and Nicolas have been cultivating a friendly familial vibe at Camping Le Bloemstraete, in Renescure, halfway between Hazebrouck and St Omer, and within easy reach of Lille and Calais. Set across two hectares, plots are huge, grassy and surrounded by big hedges to keep things private yet nicely neighbourly. There's a playground surrounded by a large grassy area to kick a ball around in before sitting down to lunch at one of the picnic benches; a pétanque pitch is on site too. For barbecue food shopping you can head into the centre of the village where there's a supermarket and a butcher, and then pick up your croissants, pain au chocolat and a baguette or two at the local bakery. For when you feel you've had enough of toiling over hot charcoals, try out the village's gastro restaurant or brasserie and finish off with a few vin rouge at one of the local bars. If you fancy an off-site adventure, ask Julie and Nicolas how to get to their favourite trails and nature spots and they'll give you plenty of information about where you can go from the site on hikes and bike rides around the area.

喜欢 Have used this campsite for several years now & wont go anywhere else. Close to Calais so ideal stop over. Always feel welcomed here! Great facilities! Shower/toilet block, hot water, washing up area, washing machine etc and bread/pastry in the morning which Nicolas will kindly bring to your door. Thank you!

喜欢 A lovely quiet and unpretentious site where we felt very welcomed. We loved the environment, freedom feeling and easy going nature of the whole site. Very respectful and pleasant owners who shared information about the small town in a warm and friendly way. Perfect place to stay for just a night or several nights, not too far from the ferry ports. Clean toilets and showers. The site is in a lovely rural and secluded location and was excellent value for money.

喜欢 What a lovely site. We were given a great welcome and give a choice of parking spots. VW T5. A small site with a clean and tidy wash block. Short walk into village with small supermarket and a bar. There was a restaurant and butchers also. Morning bread was available if required and some local drinks and gifts available for purchase.
Close to ferry ports but very rural setting.

What a find! Like previous reviewers I was thoroughly impressed by this site from the warm, friendly welcome to the good sized pitches and modern facilities. Seats and toilet paper available! Only 45 minutes from Calais was a bonus. We like it so much we returned for a night on our return trip and will visit again. All at around 20 euros with electric and water on pitch

喜欢 What a lovely site the owner was supper friendly.. big pitch with electric and water on pitch.. would defo stay again.. home made pizza were amazing.. very close to the lovely town of St Omer.. great spot 5 stars

不喜欢 Only slight negative, shower pressure bit on the low side.. but lots of hot water in a nice modern toilet block

The huge 1,200-hectare forest of Clairmarais lies less than two kilometres away from Camping Le Bloemstraete, for scenic hikes and bike rides among its old oak trees while you keep a beady eye out for owls and grey herons. You can also trek around a trail that winds past the pond of Harchelles (built by monks) to the pilgrimage site of the Clairmarais grotto, which lies among the woodland. Then, climb aboard a bacôve (flat-bottomed marsh boat through the maze of waterways that make up the UNESCO-listed Audomarois marsh, set around the historic cultural centre of Saint-Omer. Also around this area is the Platier d'Oye nature reserve, the first feeding area for migrants birds en route to their winter homes and so an excellent spot for birdwatchers. Other good sightseeing options in the area include the World War II bunker complex of La Coupole, and the historic town of Cassel with fab historical spots such as an 18th-century hilltop wooden windmill, the cobblestoned Grand'Place, a Flemish Gothic-style church, a museum and lots of photogenic 16th-century Flemish buildings.
