喜欢 A busy site but well laid out with plenty of space between pitches. A great atmosphere down at the lake bar. The facilities were basic but clean.

Reception staff were very friendly

不喜欢 There had clearly been a recent problem with unruly teenagers which meant that the young children could only use the play equipment between very short hours. This was difficult to explain to a toddler.

喜欢 A friendly welcome and a choice of large and level pitches. We only stayed for one night as we were en route from Spain to Charente, so we can't really give a thorough review.

Showers were a good temperature.

不喜欢 As it was low season, there was only one toilet block open, so we can only review the facilities available at the time. The toilet block in question was somewhat dated and didn't really appear to have sufficient capacity for a site of this size. It may well be that the other facilities were larger to cater for more people. I'm not sure that the cleanliness warranted the star rating for the site.

The washing up area had only two sinks. Water was hot but there was no working lighting.

Many peaceful days are within easy reach too, like investigating the deep history of the Ariège region at the Parc de la Prehistoire de Tarascon-sur-Ariege prehistory museum 15 minutes' drive south: this splendid centre should entertain even certified non-history types with its huge range of sights and activities including workshops, games, displays and events all based around the ancestral people who once lived in the famed Cave of Niaux. (Visit the cave too, for a torchlight trip underground among extensive galleries of prehistoric wall paintings, along the cavern's 18-kilometre length.) The town of Foix a few kilometres away is home to a 12th-century castle and a medieval Old Town as well as the serene botanical garden of Les Épines de Lespinet, with Mediterranean vegetation, banana plants and many spiky cacti.
