Spot pine martens and hedgehogs, red squirrels and hares around the green grounds of La Ribière Sud, a peaceful site in the Haute-Vienne department half an hour's drive from Limoges... and you might see a deer first thing in the morning here too...
This spectacularly scenic and mithty peaceful site iis set on nine hectares of woodland and meadow, with a pretty garden area with a large pond, surrounded by farmland, hiking trails and more woodland. It's in a rural area with no light pollution and tiptop stargazing by night; look out for shooting stars and the Milky Way from your scenic spot on site.
La Ribière Sud is in a quiet region not thronged by tourists, but with attractions and activities all around: the local villages have summer fetes with farmers' markets, craft fairs and firework displays; the site is in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park, and supervised swimming lakes with beaches are within easy reach. Château de Châlus-Chabrol (where Richard the Lionheart met his end) is five minutes' drive away.
Restaurants and bars are in the local villages of Pageas and Gorre, each five minutes' drive away.

当地景点
This is a peaceful place for rambles and bike rides, including the 13-kilometre railway line bike trail from Chalus to Oradour-sur-Vayres. Once at Oradour, drop into the tourist office for info on hikes, bike rides and other activities in the surrounding Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park and the Haute-Vienne.
More countryside hikes and bike rides leave from Champagnac-la-Rivière and Bussière-Galant, each about 10 minutes' drive from the site and each with viewsome town centres to potter around before or after. For historic houses and castles – and more scenic strolls, Château de Châlus-Maulmont, former home to Richard the Lionheart, is a mere five minutes' drive from the site and 15th-century Château de Brie and its 320 hectares of parkland is within 15.
And then on to porcelain city Limoges, for riverside ambles alongside the Vienne, a potter around its museums and cathedral, and – quite possibly – the picking up of souvenirs to bear proudly and boastfully home.
Park Zoo Reynou castle and wildlife park is 35 minutes away.
