Beach hoppers of the world, this one’s for you – south Corsica site Camping Campo di Liccia is in a splendid spot for getting out to the gorgeous sandy stretches scattered around this stunning side of the island (loads of them, in fact – the folk on site reckon guests can choose from a rather enticing 25 or so…) Up in the hills around 10 minutes’ drive from Bonifacio, this is a site where the natural world is very much to the fore: stays here involve being surrounded by olive trees, eucalyptus trees, holm oaks and other native species, and there’s often some splendid stargazing to be done thanks to the lack of light pollution. It’s also a place that aims to strike a balance by providing plenty of facilities without growing too much and losing the personal touch. As such, it’s a place that welcomes all members of the family, dogs included, and lays on kids’ club activities and family-friendly evening entertainment through the summer. And those facilities? They include a fab open-air pool area with paddling pool and spacious sun terrace and shaded spaces for games of ping pong, pétanque and volleyball. There’s also a gym area for those who feel the need for a workout to justify an extra drink at the site bar, or an extra portion of something at the restaurant.

喜欢 Il camping è ben organizzato. Ho trovato molto puliti i bagni e comode le docce, acqua calda a qualsiasi ora del giorno. Buona idea vendere il pane al mattino. È silenzioso di notte e si dorme bene. La piscina è comoda e bella. C'è molta vegetazione e aria buona. Il personale è molto disponibile e consiglia dove mangiare. Ci hanno permesso dopo il check-in di poter attendere in camping l'ora di rientro del traghetto.

不喜欢 Non mi piace il fatto che possano entrare le macchine dentro il camping perché oltre ad essere un pericolo per i bambini fanno continuamente polvere, le vie sono fatte di terra battuta. La colazione dovrebbe avere più scelta e bevande calde di qualità migliore. I water dovrebbero avere degli appendi abiti come ci sono nelle docce.

喜欢 Camping muy familiar y tranquilo, agradable y muy buen ambiente. Todo el personal muy atento. Las parcelas con bastante sombra y amplias para una tienda de 4 y coche. Buena ubicación para Bonifacio y las playas.

To the beach, oui? You can really take your pick from some of southern Corsica’s finest sandy stretches on a stay here. Canetto, Tonnara, Rondinara, Petit Sperone… all are splendid places to spend a seaside day, and all are within a 20-minute drive. If the gorgeous waters around here entice you in for a deeper look, your best bet is a boat trip to the stunning Lavezzi islands (harbour 10 minutes’ drive away) for some stunning snorkelling and scuba diving spots (and some equally stunning beaches…) Break up the beach trips by taking wanders around some of Corsica’s historic corners: start with a stroll around the citadel walls in Bonifacio (10 minutes’ drive), then amble around the ancient Ermitage de la Trinité (10 minutes) and poke around in Porto Vecchio (20 minutes) to see the Old Town and 16th-century fortifications. Fancy an outing without any need to drive? Wander up to the Bouches de Bonifacio nature reserve in around 15 minutes to spot birds and take walks around the craggy limestone scenery.
