To Finistère! And to La Forêt-Fouesnant – and to Camping Les Falaises: try formulating all those place names after a flagon or two of Breton cider… And how fab you'll find this place too. Camping Les Falaises is a quiet and friendly family park, with direct access to a sandy beach a couple of hundred metres away, and in a peaceful part of Finistère tucked away in greenery five minutes' drive from La Forêt-Fouesnant. Watersports are but a stroll away, scenic golf is at Cornouaille within a couple of kilometres, and famed Brittany destinations like Quimper, Concarneau, Pont-Aven and Bénodet are within 10 to 25 minutes' drive. You'll have sea views from many handsome spots around the site, and plentiful places among the trees, flowers and hedges to sunbathe or hide away as your heart desires. Once (if) roused from that, there's a playground and a sports ground if you're feeling active; a TV room with football table and other games to retreat indoors to; pétanque and table tennis competitions organised regularly throughout July and August, and weekly theme nights as well as dances, quizzes and karaoke evenings as night falls. Camping Les Falaises has toilets and showers, a laundry room and wifi; there's also a small shop and a bread and pastry order service. Local market days are Tuesdays and Sundays.

Your closest beach is a couple of minutes' amble away and it's not far to other fab Finistère stretches of sand such as Kerleven within 750 metres or Kernous within 10 minutes' drive. More sands, as well as a watersports centre, are at Cornouaille a few minutes' drive away; the local marina is within a kilometre. For day trips, mosey along to Brittany highlights such as Concarneau (10 minutes), Pont-Aven (20 minutes) and Quimper (25 minutes), as well as the beaches, thalassotherapy centre and scenic harbour of Bénodet, 20 minutes' drive away on the mouth of the Odet. Further afield, Lorient is 40 minutes' drive from the site and the ancient stones of Carnac within an hour and a half. Traditional folk dancing can be seen – or taken part in – at many Breton festivals throughout the summer: ask the Camping Les Falaises team for details or keep an eye out for posters in town.
