With a peaceful setting deep in rural Normandy, La Géraumière is on 15 acres of leafy private land that calls to all keen anglers, thanks to its two lakes well-stocked with carp. But you don’t have to be into fishing to stay here; the lovely medieval town of Domfront (10 minutes’ drive) has shops, ancient buildings and a castle to please sightseers, as well as plenty of bars and restaurants where bon viveurs can enjoy a glass of Normandy cider to accompany tasty local specialities. Back on site, simple facilities tucked among the trees include an outdoor kitchen with a cooker, fridge, and washing-up sinks, plus pristine showers. Go about your day quietly and you might just spot deer or foxes among the trees. Take quiet moments to sit and listen to the birdsong, watch the kingfishers dipping into the lakes for insects, and on clear nights, gaze up at the stars in a sky free from light pollution. And of course, you can always befriend the owners’ livestock too: the roll call to date is ducks, goats and a pony – not forgetting the free-range hens, who might just venture onto your pitch to say ‘hi’.

喜欢 Very welcoming, kind and friendly British owners, great communication before arrival, providing clear directions and info. Pitch where you like - the grassed site is large, flat and open, with mature trees all around. Very peaceful at night, dark skies so great for star gazing. Friendly pony, donkey and pretty goats wandering freely (but penned at night). Chickens and ducks (in their own fenced off area) and alpacas in adjoining field. Very clean small unisex shower block (toilet paper and hand wash provided, a bonus!), hot showers, useful kitchen facilities in outdoor section include microwave, fridge, electric hob, kettle and spare pots, pans and cutlery if needed, airing rack for drying clothes. Owners are very helpful and relaxed, checking if we needed anything and available when needed (live at the edge of the site by the fishing lake). Local town Domfront (10 mins by car) worth visiting, very pretty old town with castle, beautiful church and large Intermarché nearby).

喜欢 La sympathique propriétaire, les animaux en liberté totale autour des voyageurs.
La nature à l'état pur... Le tonneau très original. Ne pas avoir peur de croiser des petites bêtes minuscules🤪. Bien pour une nuit. Les visites de Wonka (si je ne me trompe pas) et Ratus on a adoré.

喜欢 Sitio bonito. Tranquilo. Con animales sueltos. No son pequeñas parcelas delimitadas sino que puedes disponer del espacio libremente. Acceso a puntos eléctricos. Pequeñas comodidades de cortesía (microondas, fuego, kettle, nevera...)Trato correcto con propietaria.

不喜欢 Solo dos duchas y dos WC, en caso de mucha ocupación podría estar un poco justo en "hora punta".

喜欢 Shower and loo’s very clean, lots of cooking utensils for campers to use.
nice quite site tucked away in the countryside. plenty of space, large pitches.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Cooked us a great authentic chick curry one evening.
Stayed 4 nights great value for money and definitely will stay here again.
Short drive to Domfront lovely old town and the old old part of the town up the cobbles is definitely worth a look. Also lots of lovely French villages in the area.

Anglers may be happy hanging out at the carp lakes waiting for a bite, but there’s lots of other stuff to do too. You provide the pedal power on the Vélorail at Bagnoles de l’Orne Normandie (15 minutes) as you trundle along a former railway line in Andaine Forest (10 minutes’ drive), or you can bike sections of the long-distance Véloscénie as it wends its way along greenways through Domfront (10 minutes) to the Normandy coast. The kids (most adults too, in fact) will probably adore getting up close to handsome heavy horses at La Michaudière - Ferme du Cheval de Trait (10 minutes). If the kids need to let off steam after touring the castle and museums in Mayenne (35 minutes), a kayaking session on the Varenne river from Torchamp (15 minutes) or hiring a pedalo on the lake at La Ferté-Macé (20 minutes) should do the trick. Have wander around the Wednesday-morning market at Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët (40 minutes) and pick up local cider, cheeses and fresh fruit for picnics, or make a day of it by visiting the abbey at Mont Saint-Michel (an hour and 15 minutes) in the Bay of Normandy.
