Family-friendly (and dog-friendly too) Camping Saint-Michel is set in a spacious landscaped park, with plenty of greenery and flower-filled beds about the place. It has easy access to major attractions in both Brittany and Normandy – and is only 10 minutes’ drive from the medieval wonders of UNESCO-listed Mont Saint-Michel. But there’s masses to keep everyone busy on site. Kids can have lots of fun in the heated swimming pool (open from mid-May to mid-September) while you keep an eye on proceedings from the bar terrace, there’s a play area with bouncy castles for them to jump around on and activities at the kids’ club in high season. Older offspring may like to kick a ball around on the football field, challenge new-found friends to a game of pétanque or play ping pong. And few kids – whatever their age – will turn down the chance to meet the donkeys, wallabies, rabbits and chickens at the petting farm. Handy services for keeping the family well fed – and therefore happy – include a mini-market for stocking up on essentials, a bakery for the all-important daily baguette (please order the night before) and a takeaway service from the bar in July and August (not Mondays). A few practical details here: modern facilities include toilet blocks with hot showers, family washrooms, disabled access and coin-operated washing machines. Anything else that you need, just ask at reception.

喜欢: Wifi was free and good.

不喜欢: To qualify it this review is in respect of 2 pre-booked 1 night stays 10 days apart. 1. Toilet seats not deemed a requirement. 2. Unhygienic smell of both toilet and shower/washing blocks. 3. Lack of general rubbish bins around the site. 4. Outrageous price of beer at bar.

喜欢: Buongiorno si posso dire che è un buon campeggio c'è tto quello che serve il personale gentile e sempre a disposizione..... lo consiglio perché è molto vicino a Mont-Saint-Michel ed ad altre attrazioni ottimo con le bici c'è il bus che porta direttamente

喜欢: Lovely site close to lovely walks and the famous Mont.

不喜欢: Bar prices are high but then you can have a few and stagger back so saving on taxi, you have the choice! Pool was heated and lovely

喜欢: Convenience for St Michel site

不喜欢: Place is not the best 3 star we stayed at. Reception was efficient but the pool was disgusting, loads of birds around it, pitches are on top of each other with no privacy at all. Toilets were relatively clean but no handsoap. Buildings are very old, don't look up when using facilities as the amount of bugs, webs etc is horrendous. Wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend. Better places to stay or Aire in the area.

喜欢: Good size pitch. Busy site. Quite close to Mont at Michel- about 7 km. clean showers and toilets. Bread could be ordered for the morning.

不喜欢: Plagued by wasps!! Might have been a wasp nest nearby. Long, slow queue to collect bread in the mornings

Tick Mont Saint-Michel (10 minutes’ drive) off the bucket list with a tour of the medieval pilgrimage abbey topping the tiny islet, a stroll on the Chemin des Remparts walkway around the walls, and a wander in the cliffside Jardins de la Croix de Jérusalem. Check out the model boats in the Musée de la Mer et de l’Écologie, or watch the multimedia show on the abbey’s construction at Archéoscope. To up the ‘wow’ factor of your visit, take a pony-and-trap ride across the causeway to the island, and linger in the evening to watch the sound-and-light extravaganza showcasing its history. Turn to Brittany to explore the walled Intra-Muros old town in Saint-Malo (50 minutes), have a look around the landmark Cathédrale Saint-Vincent de Saint-Malo and chill on the Grande Plage. Round off the day by ordering a ham-and-cheese pancake in one of the town’s famed crêperies. In Dinard (45 minutes), set the kids to building sandcastles on Plage de l’Écluse, make time for a pamper in one of the spas, and have an evening wander along the seafront Clair de Lune promenade to see the sunset.
