When you’re after a quiet and simple Normandy camping experience or looking for an overnight stop to and from the English Channel ferry ports, check out Aire Naturelle d’Agy. This low-key retreat from the hustle of city life is surrounded by greenery and comes with spectacular views over the Calvados region’s countryside. Modern facilities on site include hot showers, toilets and a washing-up area, plus a small shop where you can pick up basic groceries and some camping essentials. Anything else can be found in historic Bayeux (10 minutes’ drive), with its choice of restaurants, markets and shops. If you’re looking for outdoor activities, you’ve come to the right place too, as there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails to be followed around the rural village of Agy (five minutes) – and as the site is pet-friendly, you can bring your four-legged pals to help you explore the area. For more sporty action, you can go fishing on the River Drôme or horse riding through peaceful woodland in less than 10 minutes’ drive.

喜欢 Everything was perfect. For us. Email before arrival gave us pitch number so we just drove in and set up. Owner came in evening for payment. Loos and showers etc were very clean. Site was small and quiet and rural. If you want entertainment for adults or children, à shop, a pool etc this is not the site for you. If you want peace and quiet then it is. And at à very reasonable price.

喜欢 Sehr freundlicher Empfang, ruhige Lage, großzügige Stellplätze, Sanitäranlagen absolut in Ordnung. Sämtliche Logistik für das Wohnmobil vorhanden! Gut, um mit dem Hund spazieren zu gehen. Gekühlte Getränke können vor Ort gekauft werden.

喜欢 This is a super small site in attractive countryside with fields & forests around. While we pitched our tent - a swallowtail butterfly flew by, soon followed by several fritillaries - super nature. The facilities are top notch. We’d stay again. Michel is a super host & very helpful.

喜欢 The location was amazing, so quiet and had all the amenities we needed for our short stay. The host didn’t speak English but made great use of Google translate it just made it more fun and they were so lovely. Great facilities, easy to find, pitches are ample and countryside all around, beautiful and close to Caen ferry port.

Réveil avec les petits oiseaux bien sympathique. Vraiment très proches de nos côtes Normande pour faire les plages du débarquement. ( pour nous précisément)

Don’t rush off though once you've seen the main event though; stay to tour the almost-untouched pretty medieval centre of the town, which escaped serious damage in World War II. Look out for the stately Gothic-style Notre Dame de Bayeux Cathedral, then have a stroll past the half-timbered houses lining the River Aure. History lovers wishing to explore the Normandy Landing Beaches are in pole position too. Omaha Beach (25 minutes) has remains of German bunkers and a stirring steel memorial to those who died in World War II, or you can visit the Juno Beach Centre (35 minutes), crammed with war memorabilia. Kids with you? If they need a change from war tourism, take them zorbing or climbing on rope courses at Bayeux Aventure - Parc de loisirs et attractions (10 minutes), or put your heads together to solve the puzzles at La Bulle Temporelle - Escape Game Bayeux (15 minutes).
