The splendid setup in question is Camping Mønbroen, just next to Ulvsunda Sound on the northern coast of Møn island. This is a cracking choice for those seeking serene surroundings for days of kayaking, fishing, hiking and biking – walking routes and cycling trails pass right by the site, with the latter being particularly popular with folk aiming to navigate from the flat western pastures to the hilly eastern terrain of the island.
The site also has a landing point for kayaks (with rentals available) and boat mooring, and there are nature trails to roam along around the farm fields if you don’t want to stray too far from your digs. Days of golf and horse riding can be had locally too, or you might like to opt for one of the beaches within 20 minutes’ drive.
Post-activities, a woodfired sauna awaits for soothing any aches, or you can warm up by the firepit. The site also has an outdoor communal kitchen for whipping up some grub – perhaps with some of the organic meat sold on the farm? Before bedding down for the night, it’s worth sprawling out to look upwards for a while, as Møn’s status as a dark-sky reserve means there’s often excellent stargazing to be done.

Once you’ve warmed up on the farm’s own trails, venture a little further afield for wanders around Liselund Park (half an hour’s drive) or drop into the GeoCenter Møns Klint (also half an hour) to learn a little bit about the area’s geology before taking a stroll around the Møns Klint chalk cliffs.
If beach is more your coastal style, there are three fine specimens to be found in Ulvshale, Hårbølle and Råbylille – each one is about 20 minutes’ drive away, with plenty of sand for all the family to frolic on. If you’ve not managed to wear the nippers out down at the beach, stop by at Kalvehave Labyrintpark (five minutes’ drive) and set them loose in the maze for a while.
To add a bit of variety to your hols, make some time to peruse the art at Galleri Warrer, wander through the greenery at Museumsgårdens Venner Møn and stop by to see the murals at Fanefjord church (all 15 minutes away). If you’re around on a Friday in July, plan to check out the tipples at Isle of Møn gin distillery (10 minutes).
