If you're a fortunate sort able to take time for a lengthy tour of central Europe – or if you're hurrying elsewhere and seeking a serene stopoff, Kamp Odmorište Sabljaci will have you sorted. Stop here on your way to the Adriatic coast or while scooting around Croatia, or settle down for a week or two: either way, you'll be among cracking scenery next to the handsome waters of Sabljaci lake. Wild swimming, lakeside cycle routes, sailing, windsurfing and fishing for rainbow trout, pike and perch are all within ambling distance. Kamp Odmorište Sabljaci is in Karlovac County, 10 minutes' drive from Ogulin and 35 from the famed climbing spot of Klek mountain. It's a peaceful place surrounded by peaks, with spectacular views, roomy grass pitches and basic amenities of a washing-up area with free hot water, and two family bathrooms with showers. Settle on the communal terrace to cook up alfresco eats at the barbecue, using green or spicy specimens snipped from the site's herb garden. If you're unsure about what spice goes with what, or you need to gently nudge a family member in the direction of finding a recipe and wielding the barbecue tongs, connect to the wifi to find all the info you need.

Die Zufahrt über Google-Maps sollte man vermeiden wenn man ein Gespann länger als 10 m hat. Sehr eng und scharfe Rechtskurve wo ein Baum es sehr schwer macht.

喜欢 We had a wonderful stay at this campsite and really enjoyed our time here. The whole place is very clean, beautiful and well maintained, with a lovely, cosy and relaxing atmosphere.

A special thank you to the staff — everyone was incredibly friendly, polite and helpful, and made us feel very welcome.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place where you can truly relax and enjoy your holiday. We would be very happy to come back again and can definitely recommend this campsite to others.

喜欢 The site itself is lovely. Great showers. Great BBQ and washing up area. Staff were incredibly helpful. Unfortunately after one night of six we decided to leave, the Gough no fault of the site.

The site is lovely and clean, the staff are great and the service was good.

A good spot if you are passing by or want to hike locally.

不喜欢 This is not about the site, more the area.
We found the ‘lake’ and the surrounding areas to be a bit dirty compared to other places we have been. Cigarette buts, toilet paper in bushes etc.
The lake is a reservoir/dam, has no area for small children to paddle (we of course could have researched better before visiting).
The local area offered minimal for us as a family with kids aged 3 - 9.

喜欢 Die Anlagen waren sauber.

不喜欢 Der Preis für einen Stellplatz auf einer Wiese war stark überteuert. Es gab nur jeweils 2 Herren- und Damenduschen, die gleichzeitig Toilette waren. Die Stellplatznachbarn haben bis spät nachts Musik mit Trommeln und Klangschalen gemacht, ohne dass der Betreiber sich darum gekümmert hat.

喜欢 Extremely clean and well organised. Pitches very accommodating and a good size. Toilets perfect and very warm and roomy. Loved the barbecue, gazebo area with ample socialising space. Host was very helpful and spoke very good English. Will be back!

Lovely Sabljaci Lake is a hotspot for activities around as well as in and on the water: you could hire a bike on site and pedal around the lakeside routes, don your captain's hat for sailing, windsurfing or rowing, or bring along your fishing rod to land trout, pike, perch, tench, carp, roach and grayling. Several small towns are dotted around the region, all with their own eateries dishing up varied menus of local cuisine. The Ogulin area and nearby Klek are famed parts of Croatia for mountaineering should you then need to burn some calories: tackle the 1,181-metre vertical rock of Klek for a most energetic option, or go for some of the local mountain paths instead, such as the three-hour trail from Ogulin towards Klek, or the hour and a half from town to Knej and Stožac. Just under an hour's drive to the south east is the Plitvice Lakes National Park, the biggest in Croatia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stuninng place has 16 beaut lakes, is surrounded by mountains and is home to a huge variety of animals including brown bears, lynxes, wildcats and wolves.
