Cycling and hiking trails are in the surrounding countryside and the Oberwart District, part of Austria's least populous state of the Burgenland. Both nine-hole and 18-hole golf courses are easily accessible nearby, along with local games and sports in the area including miniature golf, tennis, horse riding and climbing. For watersports such as kitesurfing and sailing, head to Neusiedl lake, Europe's second-largest steppe lake, 70 kilometres away. More of a cultural soul? Make for the Castle Schlaining Peace Museum (10 kilometres), Aschau Clock Museum (15 kilometres) or the Markt Neuhodis Water Mill (15 kilometres). If you want to explore further into eastern Austria, the spa town of Baden, the historic city of Graz and the Austrian mountains are all within about an hour's drive.
