Wakeboarding, sandy beach days, go-karting, adventure golf, woodland walks… the list of possible activities surrounding Oakfields Holiday Accommodation goes on and on. This family-run Pembrokeshire site is in a particularly fine spot that’s fairly central within the county and about 15 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Saundersfoot. There are 11 acres of land at this site so there’s plenty of space for all guests – families, groups, couples and solo travellers alike. It’s all nicely laidback as well, with dogs welcome and a play area and games room provided for the kids. Practicalities are well sorted too: the site has an honesty shop, a shared freezer, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area as well as a water point and a bathroom block with three toilets and two showers. What’s close by is equally enticing – there’s a pub about 10 minutes’ walk away for easy meals and a few drinks, and dog owners can stroll with their buddies to Canaston Wood (about half an hour away). Watersports may well be on the agenda too, as Wild Lakes Wales is only 10 minutes’ walk away – it’s got a bouldering wall and a popular restaurant as well as the main wakeboarding and aqua park activities.

喜欢 We had a lovely stay at Oakfields. We only stayed one night as we were testing out our tent. The pitch was spacious , we were given the option between pitches so choose to go close to the play park which the kids loved (6 & 4 years) super family friendly atmosphere, the boy who lived there showed us his chicks which he had hatched himself. You can rent a fire pit for £3.50 p/n if using your own wood or pay £7.50 to use firelighters and wood provided. There are animals on site which wonder around, cat, dog, goat😅 ( no bother to us ) but something to keep in mind if you have your own animals with you or children who don't like them. Great covered area for games and socialising if the weather turned bad.

喜欢 This is a proper farm campsite. Quiet at night, and in May we were mostly the only ones camping.

There is an honesty shop, pool table, table football, football pitch, yes football pitch. Old washing machine drums can be rented for £3.50 per night if using own wood, or free if you buy theirs.

A sign says "Free range Children and Animals" which I thought was great.

Happy farming family, very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

喜欢 Everything around the site was great , plenty for the children to do and the games room kept them more than entertained .. my grandson loved the animals and the goat wandering freely kept him happy

喜欢 Big pitches, lovely people, lots of onsite things to do like the games room with a pool table, a park and mini football pitch and farm animals to see. Little shop if you need a few bits. Brought us over a bench and a parasol. Showers were lovely and hot with great pressure. Good location for surrounding places to get to.

喜欢 We loved it here! They have their own animals on site (goats, pigs, horses, chickens and alpacas), a great playground and football pitch. It’s so well maintained too. The pitches are grass and we got stuck as it had rained a lot but the owners helped pull us out! The games room with a pool table and ping pong was fab too - lovely the honesty shop too. Amazing!

Having Wild Lakes Wales just up the road is a great thing, but that’s far from the only option around here for active types. There’s also plenty to choose from at Heatherton World of Activities (15 minutes’ drive), including ziplining, archery and zorbing, or you can go pony trekking in the Preseli Hills (40 minutes). If the weather’s not so good, get some speed up with the indoor karting at West Wales Karting (20 minutes) or leap about at Hangar 5 trampoline park (25 minutes). For gentler family-friendly days out, look to places like Clerkenhill Adventure Farm & Frizbee Golf Course (10 minutes), Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes) or The Dinosaur Park Tenby (15 minutes), all with plenty of fun for the youngsters. Alternatively, get a heritage fix at Carew Castle (10 minutes) or Pembroke Castle (20 minutes). And of course some time at the coast has to be on the cards, whether you fancy a long walk on the Wales Coast Path or a day at the beach – Saundersfoot (15 minutes) and Tenby both have fabulous sandy beaches, or you could try wilder spots like Manorbier (25 minutes) and Barafundle Bay (half an hour).
