Whether you’re into long hikes along the rugged northern coast of Pembrokeshire (thank you, Pembrokeshire Coast Path) or exploring pretty beaches hidden in small, sheltered coves, Fishguard Bay Caravan & Camping Park puts you within easy access of your pleasure. This peaceful spot sits just off the A487 linking Fishguard (10 minutes’ drive) and Cardigan (half an hour), high atop a cliff with spectacular views of St George’s Channel. Into watersports? Nearby beaches (all about a 10-minute drive from the site) include Goodwick Sands, whose shallow waters are great for kids (and the family dog) to splash around; Cwm-yr-Eglwys, a popular spot for rockpooling and watersports; and Pwllgwaelod Beach, surrounded by tall cliffs that are home to fulmars and peregrine falcons. Speaking of birds… if you’re after a bird’s eye view of Pembrokeshire’s north coast, head to Dinas Mountain (10 minutes), from the summit of which, on clear days, you might also catch a glimpse of Ireland’s Wicklow Hills. All pitches at Fishguard Bay come with electrical hook-ups, and on-site amenities include a launderette and a washing-up room with communal microwave ovens and a freezer for ice packs. There’s a small food shop, too (alternatively, the nearest store is five minutes’ drive along the A487). For an added touch of luxury, the modern toilet/shower block features underfloor heating.

喜欢 A lovely site with spectacular views. There is access to the coastal path. The toilet and shower block was very clean. There is a good shop and helpful staff.

不喜欢 There was a generator behind us which created a low pitched hum.

喜欢 Trotz der späten Anreise klappte eine Zuordnung des Stellplatzes

不喜欢 Ich hatte einen Platz mit Aussicht gebucht, dieser war auch so beschrieben. Leider gab man mir einen Stellplatz ohne jegliche Aussicht. Und das, obwohl ich es in dem Feld für Extrawünsche nochmals genannt hatte. Das leider auch ohne Kommentar. Wir standen dann zwischen Wohncontainern nicht weit von einem Stromaggregat, das lief.
Vielleicht noch der Hinweis, das die Duschen leider wenig Wasserdruck haben und die Bedienung auch veraltet ist. Man musste den Druckknopf ständig drücken.

Fishguard’s pretty Lower Harbour is surrounded by vegetation-covered hills, where trails lead to the ruins of an old fort. From there you can admire ferries sailing in and out of the new harbour, which sits between Fishguard and Goodwick. Near the ferry terminal is Ocean Lab - Sea Trust Wales, with an aquarium and organised rockpool safaris. Tŷ Canol National Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is dotted with archaeological remains, such as the Neolithic-era Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (a sort of miniature Stonehenge) and the Waun Mawn Standing Stones. Castell Henllys Iron Age Village is a reconstructed settlement with roundhouses, plus re-enactments and workshops. On the banks of the River Teifi, in Cardigan (half an hour), is a castle whose medieval walls enclose an elegant Georgian house and garden. Just outside the town, the modern Welsh Wildlife Centre has informative displays on the surrounding Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, which is home to dragonflies, mallards and otters.
