Whether real, painted or knitted, pumpkins are a key theme at Bodlas, a peaceful Anglesey site on the outskirts of Bodedern village (15 minutes on foot). Indeed, come to this small family farm in the autumn and you’ll be able to go picking pumpkins or joining carving sessions – the resulting jack-o’-lanterns might just be the spookiest on your street, come Halloween… Pitches are on a well-maintained and level grass field, and there’s plenty of room for children to kick a ball around, fly kites or chase each other (and the family dog) around. There’s also a play area, plus picnic benches for alfresco meals, which you can order from the on-site catering pod. If you fancy cooking your own meals (perhaps using the eggs sold on site, which are generously produced by happy, free-roaming hens), a firepit is available on request. Alternatively, head into Bodedern, where a pub serves traditional fare, or take a five-minute drive to Valley village, which has a restaurant and a handful of takeaway places. The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path takes you all around the island, past beaches like Traeth Cymyran and Traeth Crigyll (an hour and a half on foot). Alternatively, take the North Wales Expressway to reach Parc Arfordirol Penrhos Coastal Park (10 minutes’ drive), with woodland trails and splendid views across the Cymyran Strait; or head to RSPB Cymru Ynys Lawd (20 minutes), at the westernmost tip of Holy Island, where you might catch glimpses of puffins nesting among the rocky cliffs, as well as admiring spectacular sunsets over the water.

喜欢 Really great site, toilets and showers, a little play area for children, washing up facilities everything was always clean. The owners were absolutely lovely, giving advice of local places to go, available if you needed anything and they brought the baby alpaca out so the kids could see. It's a really great location for exploring Anglesey too.
My little boy made really great friends with the owners son and we all had a great time (and didn't want to come home!) we will definitely be back.

喜欢 Spacious plot, toilets and showers spotless, really nice friendly owners, if you need anything just ask, this was our second visit and really enjoyed it again, cheers John and Erin, you'll definately be seeing us again next year 👍

喜欢 Smaller campsite. Interaction via text beforehand. We noticed that the families with children were all one end of the site which was nice having came with no kids of our own. Even though the weather wasn’t the best, we still had fun. John was a star! We had an issue with car keys being locked in the car, and it was John to the rescue, he did everything he could to assist, couldn’t of asked for more! Thanks again

不喜欢 Unisex toilets (which we knew about) not a massive thing, just personal choice. Pitches/tents seemed quite close together

喜欢 Location and cleanliness of toilet and shower facilities. Very dark at night which was great for seeing the stars and the Star Link which the kids thought was amazing.
Nice little play park and play area for our young children.

不喜欢 Our pitch was right next to the road and at times speeding cars and farm traffic made it sometimes quite noisy from early morning.
Our pitch had quite a lot of bent tent pegs left half in the ground from the campers before so we had to clear the pitch before we could set up, it made us cautious of the tyres on the car becoming damaged too so we didn't rest until we felt confident that we had cleared all the pegs that had been left over in our area.

喜欢 Camped for one night with family. Good sized flat pitch with plenty of room for the children to run around and play.
Facilities were good and kept clean.
Nice and quiet at night, and a good spot for stargazing.
Free range eggs sold on site.

不喜欢 We enjoyed our stay but did have to pay additional charge for bringing a second car.

喜欢 Nice quite family friendly site, nice clean toilets and showers, hot and cold water at washing area, kids was made up with the play area and loads of space to run around, shop 5 min walk, amazing beach 15 min drive. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Seen the jets from RAF valley flying past.

Would highly recommend for a peaceful get away.

At Holyhead (10 minutes’ drive), you can walk to the very tip of the breakwater, all the way to the lighthouse, and watch the ferries as they sail to and from Ireland. The Holyhead Maritime Museum, in Wales’s oldest lifeboat station, has colourful displays about maritime life, local shipwrecks and daring rescue stories. In addition to an 18th-century windmill, Melin Llynon (15 minutes) has a model safari with life-sized wild animals, a Willy Wonka-inspired escape room and a café serving epic treats, such as the decadently rich mônuts (donuts). Cross Anglesey all the way to the east coast and visit National Trust - Plas Newydd House and Gardens (25 minutes). This elegant mansion is the home of one of Britain’s largest murals, created by the artist Rex Whistler in the 1930s. After checking out the interiors, head out into the parkland, which overlooks the Menai Strait, and locate the colourful rhododendron garden.
