喜欢 Lovely pitch in a nice quiet area. The hosts were very nice. The facilities are simple but clean. I loved the little pub hut that also sold basic items. Would definitely stay here again.

喜欢 Very friendly staff - they really seemed to enjoy interacting with the guests and building a rapport with them. When I arrived, the owner suggested a pitch that met my needs (quiet and out of the way) and that worked really well. The facilities are pretty extensive for the price you're paying: the toilets are kept clean, the showers are warm and free and I didn't have to queue to use them, plenty of parking at the bottom of the hill, the on-site bar is very reasonably priced, free phone charging stations. Even though I was pretty much as far away from the facilities as possible, it's still only a ~3 minute round trip to get water/use the loo. I didn't buy anything from the on-site shop, but it's good to know that there are a few bits and bobs (non-perishable foods/snacks and a few personal hygiene products) for sale in case you forget your toothbrush or just don't fancy the camping meals you brought with you.

While you can't camp next to your car (which is fair enough given the nature of the ground and there are kids/chickens roaming about the site at all hours!), it was possible for me to drive up to the pitch to offload my gear then drive back to the car park. This saved a lot of trips carrying things up the hill!

Can't really fault my experience from the site's perspective. I'll definitely be back as I have some unfinished business with some of the nearby hills when the weather is slightly less damp...

喜欢 Quiet site. Friendly hosts. Bar/shop very useful. Free roaming chickens that happily came and sat with you. Toilets and showers set up. The little bits and bobs shelf with gas canisters, pegs etc that people can use if needed. Location.

不喜欢 Not so much a dislike as the showers were nicely done, but I personally found mine to be not hot enough for my liking, lukewarm at best.

喜欢 Had a very enjoyable stay!
Love the idea of the shelves with spares on offer, very useful!
The children loved the freedom of a safe contained site, and of course the animals on site!
Absolutely made my birthday to be able to feed the beautiful pigs too!
Very basic site but had everything we needed and more.
The views were incredible, and of a night when the sky was clear... just wow!

不喜欢 Only negative was that it wasn't clear in the info that the play area was off site. Although my children were quite happy finding their own entertainment.

来自经理: Thanks for the excellent review, and especially the comment you made in under the disliked. To clarify, the play park is a short walk into the centre of the village, but when advertising on Pitchup we can either select yes or no on a tab that says play park nearby. Thanks for clarifying that it is nearby and not on site, but watch this space as I have built roller coasters, climbing and soft play centres. Who knows what might happen while I have too much free time this winter.

喜欢 This is a long one for good reason- but i will start with: I felt genuinely sad to leave- I visited once previously a few years ago for my first ever camping experience and now I cant wait to come back, I hope to get a good few visits in next season! We have made core memories! New Inn has a feeling of home, definitely the best place I have stayed!

I stayed with my 9 year old son and 2 dogs (4th time ever camping, 2nd time doing it on my own with my son and the dogs). Immediately on arrival, we were made to feel welcome. Rach (one of the regular guests) helped with the dogs while I booked in etc. Lee and Michalea are the owners- the site itself is clean and tidy, well maintained toilets and showers (which are free and actually warm!). Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The bar is lovely- good variety, reasonable prices etc (pepsi max etc from the tap is just £1!!!). Cash and card payment accepted.

There are so many little extra touches, for example the numerous charger cables free to use which are situated right near the toilets/showers/bar and seem to charge ridiculously fast! Lee actually buys small gas bottles for customers to use if needed.

The animals- chickens (plenty), pigs and sheep! The sheep arent being fed by visitors etc at present, but me and my son were welcomed to join with feeding of the chickens and pigs- and we bought some freshly laid eggs to take home which are SO nice!!!

You can feel the passion from Lee and Michaela when you meet them- this isnt just a money maker, its a genuine love for what they do. Lee is a really interesting guy who will talk about anything and everything and has some interesting stories to tell!

We stayed on the dog friendly field which is just across the car park- there were 5 HUGE pitches on there, we stayed at the back corner pitch where there's a little bench. Everyone nearby was lovely- we've made friends in hope to stay in touch with.

Rach (previously mentioned regular guest) had a birthday on the day we left, we spent the afternoon sharing birthday cake and chatting with plenty of visitors and I can honestly say it just felt so comfortable.

There's plenty of space to walk around even just on site, we walked with our new friends to the local children's play park- there is a waterfall etc reasonably nearby (approx 20 min drive) but we didn't get chance to really go off site because we didn't feel the need!

THERE IS NO WIFI! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of letting my son bring his ipad, however when we return it will be a matter of enjoying what's around around us rather than being distracted by the usual rubbish on the iPad! It is so refreshing to not be attached to your phone and socialising with new people making memories! There was actually good signal on my phone all of the time- i never once had no signal when checking my phone so that's reassuring for people to know too!

There are a fair few certificates/awards the camp site has won on display in the bar- SO well deserved! Also available from the bar- coffee from a proper coffee machine, amenities such as pasta packets etc if youre caught short, snacks etc. I can not really think of anything missing from this place!

CAN NOT WAIT TO COME BACK! ROLL ON REOPENING IN 2027!

不喜欢 The great British summer weather- totally out of anyone's hands!

Unfortunately, and quite rightly so, Lee is currently unable to have his much anticipated bonfires, which is something I shall look forward to when we return- there's a lovely set up with large log stools to sit on all around the campfire fire area and on Saturday nights there's Marshmallow toasting to join in with!

喜欢 What didn’t we like - honestly, the best campsite we have been to and one we will definitely return to next camping season and be recommending to all our family & friends.

Right from arrival, we were given the warmest welcome by Lee and all of the chickens 🐓🥰 we were able to choose our own pitch which was perfect distance from the toilets and bar.

All facilities were super clean. The bar was a much appreciated bonus and the kids loved playing with the ‘Find It’ tubes.

My son was super proud of the recognition he got for his recycling skills ♻️ and both kids loved helping keep the chickens safe, putting them to bed for the night….then being able to help feed them and the pigs in the morning.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, rural, friendly and well located campsite, this is definitely for you….we have had tears at bedtime tonight because we’re back home - that says it all….get booking and go see for yourself 😊
