A chilled site in a quiet corner of Denbighshire, New Inn is a fine place to bag a relaxed rural break. With its splendid views, this popular little spot is within easy reach of attractions in and around Snowdonia, Chester and beyond. Although the former pub is permanently closed, it has a well-stocked outdoor bar called the Wobbly Dog selling draft beer and seasonal local produce. The peaceful park is also a five-minute stroll from Bryneglwys village centre, where the local stores and tea room are on hand to sort out any off-site food needs. Need to organise a bulk shop? Corwen (15 minutes' drive) is home to a bigger range of grocery shops. One of the big draws of New Inn is the number of simple pleasures to be had here, like collecting your own eggs from the site's friendly hens or watching the tame sheep frolicking through the grass. There's also ample room for setting up bonfires or barbecues and for roaming through the wilder parts of the 8.5-acre grounds. The facilities at this back to basics spot are low-key but well-maintained, with a toilet block that's got four toilets, four hot-water sinks, two showers and a washing-up sink. Phone charging is available too, to help you keep power up for your outings.

喜欢 Everything about the place is amazing. It’s really accommodating, and the owners are genuinely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. They’re always around if you need anything, or if you want advice about anything at all. The pitches are a great size, the toilets are accessible, and the showers are a real asset too.

We’re returning customers, and we’ve tried other campsites before, but it just wasn’t a match for New Inn. We knew it wouldn’t be right, and the owners made the difference. We’ll always go with our instinct and stick with what we know will be a great camping holiday for our family.

The campsite is large, but it’s still easy to navigate. There’s also the option to help out with feeding the chickens and pigs, which our children absolutely loved. A big bonus is that you can get fresh laid eggs for breakfast. You can place an order, and Lee will put them aside for you, which makes mornings so much easier.

This stay was even better than last time. It helped us remember just how much we love the place and why we come back again and again. We arrived with a few problems with our set up and we’d forgotten a few items, but Lee sorted us out straight away. Nothing was too much trouble, and he really does accommodate and find ways to help, even when it’s something that’s our own fault. The coffee machine was honestly a lifesaver for me this time, because I really needed my caffeine fix of lattes, and I loved having fresh options available instead of waiting for my own hot drink to brew.

Honestly, this is a hand-on-heart review. If you love camping and you’re travelling with a young family, this is the place to go. There’s plenty to do on site, and there are also great trails and nearby villages to explore, plus there’s a playground close by too. We can’t wait to come back, we’ve already booked again for in 10 days time.

喜欢 Friendly welcome. Well spaced pitches. Bar and basic shop on site. Great value.

不喜欢 Just felt in need of a little bit of TLC. Eg, lighting in toilets a bit dim. No hand dryers. Nothing to really put me off but some minor improvements would make this an excellent site

喜欢 I liked the friendly host, the nice little bar on site, the undercover shelter, the spotless and very clean toilet facilities, and the whole experience overall, especially as I haven’t been camping for years and decided to give it a try with my two boys while my partner was meant to come but had to work.

喜欢 Friendly owner, very accomodating and was a fantasticly safe site for kids. Took our 1yr old and she loved wandering round the site safely as no traffic.
Enjoyed feeding the chickens and pigs in the morning!

Get gallivanting through the green grounds of Erddig Hall (30 minutes' drive), Chirk Castle (30 minutes) or Ness Botanic Gardens (50 minutes) for fab floral displays, impressive buildings and splendid outdoor strolls. They have something else in common too: top-rated cafés where you can take afternoon tea in genteel garden surrounds. Those magnificently manicured spots strike a cracking contrast with wilder haunts like the shores of Lake Bala (25 minutes), Castell Dinas Brân (25 minutes) and Horseshoe Falls (20 minutes). There's also scope for giving your walking boots and mountain bikes a run for their money at Oneplanet Adventure (10 minutes), a forest visitor centre surrounded by a host of waymarked trails. Further full-on action can be found at the National White Water Centre (30 minutes), while those of a less intrepid temperament have Chester Zoo (40 minutes) not much further away. After making friends with sloths, elephants and jaguars, saunter down into the centre for a stroll down by the Dee or a laidback riverboat cruise.
