If you’d like some spectacular Snowdonia scenery as the backdrop to your break, but you’d rather not have to manoeuvre your caravan or campervan down lots of little winding roads, then this could be the one for you… Ty’n Rhos Caravan Park is a Conwy site in a handy spot just a short way off the A5 at Pentrefoelas, on the edge of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park about 15 minutes’ drive from Betws Y Coed. Easy access from the main road means it should be straightforward enough to get in and out, and to spend time exploring this part of north Wales, taking in the mountains, lakes and adventure activities of the national park, visiting castles or heading up to the north coast. Facilities have been well thought out at this family-run touring park – it’s got a utility room with a washing-up sink, washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a smart toilet/shower block with accessible bathroom. The entrance is monitored by CCTV to make sure the place is safe and secure for all guests and give you peace of mind as you kick back and take in the views of Snowdonia’s mountains and the Hiraethog Hills. You’ll be allowed to bring along a barbecue for meals if you like, but if you’d rather eat out that’s easily done at the local bar-restaurant, which is 400 metres away and open seven days a week.

喜欢 We stayed at Ty’n Rhos Caravan Park recently and loved it. It’s super easy to find, just off the A5, with clear directions and a smooth check-in.

The site itself is looked after, peaceful, and tidy. Our pitch was easy to locate, and the views were beautiful. It’s a lovely base.

Having Y Giler Arms pub just down the road (walking distance) was a massive help when we didn’t want to cook. Friendly staff, great food, dog-friendly, and exactly what you want after a busy day.

We’d absolutely go back.

不喜欢 Only downside was there’s just one shower on-site, which could be a bit of a wait during busy times - but honestly, that’s a small thing in the grand scheme.

喜欢 A lovely little site with clean facilities including washing machine and tumble dryer. Surrounded by rolling hills and plenty of footpath options. Pleasant pub a few minutes walk away. Electric hookup and water tap close by.

喜欢 It was a lovely well kept caravan park. Had hard standing pitch surrounded with grass. So we had our awning half on the hard standing slate pitch and on grass which was perfect for us. The facilities were perfect. Really clean and like I said well kept. The toilet block was just perfect with fresh soap available and a pot wash area with a washing machine and dryer. It is such a well located central area for lots of different places. Female owner (did not catch her name) she was always about in the morning, cleaning and very welcoming. Would 100% be back for another visit.

不喜欢 Not a reflection on the owners. Just location. The site is in a very open filed high on a hill. Not a great place when windy.
We could not sleep most of the 1st night thinking the caravan and awning was going to blow away due to strong winds. 2nd night was a lot better, as no wind. Being so open and high up and exposed to the elements is a big factor to consider. But would not put me off returning.

Your options include go-karting at GYG Karting (five minutes’ drive), ziplines, treetop trails and a forest coaster at Zip World Betws-y-Coed (15 minutes) and downhill thrills at the Antur Stiniog bike trails (half an hour) or Llandegla mountain bike trails (40 minutes). Fancy something a bit gentler for your day out? There’s good fishing at Llyn Brenig (15 minutes) and some nice wanders to be had among the 80 acres of formal gardens, water gardens and natural areas at Bodnant Garden (35 minutes). For a dip into the area’s history, visit the National Trust sites at Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant (half an hour) and Chirk Castle (50 minutes). Hit a rainy day? Head to Zip World Underground Golf (half an hour) for a one-of-a-kind experience at an 18-hole crazy golf course across four levels of a spectacularly illuminated subterranean cavern.
