A rural retreat awaits at the peaceful Powys base of Sychpwll Centre, a walker's paradise in the Welsh countryside, two miles from the village of Llandrinio. The centre houses a range of eco-friendly buildings, surrounded by a wildflower camping meadow. As the site backs onto the River Vyrnwy, both it and the surrounding countryside are an excellent base for guests who want to have an environmentally-friendly stay among spectacular scenery. Guests are welcome to use the centre's straw-bale kitchen for indoor cooking; outdoors, both barbecues and campfires are allowed. Several country pubs with good food and drink are close by, and guests will be within 30 minutes' drive of the market towns of Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Oswestry. The site also has a toilet block with instant warm water and showers.

喜欢 2nd visit, quiet and peacefull. Excellent hosts. Very clean and great set up. For the amenities available on site it's excellent value for the money.

喜欢 Beautiful site, very much back to nature, lovely shared kitchen if you need/want. This is not a site if you want loads of modern showers and facilities but if you love nature and a slower pace of life it’s fabulous.

喜欢 Massive site, we stayed in the bell tent and it was really comfy and spacious, made travelling a lot easier. Beautiful views outside the tent and a campfire was provided with wood. Lovely clean facilities with really friendly staff (and dog). Canoes available to hire at a really good price and made a lot of fun for us.

喜欢 I have been coming here for 6years and love it every year. Seb and his family are so helpful and always welcoming with open arms to their campsite. Shops are not that far away, there are local pubs down the road. There’s always plenty to do. I will always continue to come here.

喜欢 This campsite has a lovely vibe, from the hay bale and wooden facilities and the layout of the site. The field we were in was perfectly laid out with good spacing between the mown pitches and the longer grass with an abundance of wild flowers was beautiful. I loved the wallpaper in the bathrooms.

喜欢 Excellent stay. Very welcoming owners. The site is really nice, with lots to explore. My 5yr old enjoyed in.
I liked that there was a decent amount of space between tents, allowing everyone to have their own area to enjoy. I will be returning & recommending.

喜欢 What a fantastic campsite. Back to nature at its best. Wild meadows, swimming in the river and beautiful dark skies at night.
Perfect for solo travellers like myself but really ideal if coming with a group. A great, fully functional kitchen for all to use. Hot showers. There is nothing not to like about this place. Thank you.

喜欢 Really nice campsite with spacious pitches. Seb met us on arrival and showed us around the site and was very helpful suggesting which pitch would suit us. Toilets and showers were always clean and we never had to queue for either, even on a bank holiday weekend!

喜欢 Love this place. Such a beautiful site, wild flowers and long grass inbetween pitches. Peace and quiet all around with just bird song for company. Great communal kitchen with fridge and freezer.

不喜欢 Prefer single sex or single toilets but this has not stopped us visiting.

Based a mile from where the unpolluted River Vrynwy meets the River Severn, Sychpwll is cosy in winter and normally with a good climate in summer. There’s more than enough to do to keep everyone happy all year round, with those coming for walking or cycling holidays particularly having lots of choice. The hiking in this area gives world-class views, such as the famous Offa’s Dyke Path or one of the three routes to the landmark Rodney’s Pillar. Visitors can also visit local farmers’ markets or nearby Lake Vrynwy, or try their hand at one of the many activities nearby, including climbing, fishing, horse riding and watersports. Or, for those who like to hit a ball as hard as possible, tennis is available in town and there’s a golf course within half an hour’s drive. The market towns of Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Oswestry are around seven miles miles away for shopping, and there are plenty of days out at local attractions such as historic Powys Castle and the Welshpool to Llanfair Light Steam Railway. Culture vultures can go slightly further afield to Ludlow and Shrewsbury (around 13 miles away), for festivals, arts events and nights on the town.
