If you're hoping for views of gorgeously green hills for your Mid Wales stay, then you’ve hit the jackpot at Rainbow Pods. As you’ll see from the pics, the views of the Banwy Valley are fantastic from this small and peaceful Powys park. Part of the reason for this is the site’s slightly elevated position, putting in a prime spot for lovely views down the valley. And that’s not the only bonus of this location – it’s also handily just half a mile from the A458, so it’s easy to get to, and then to get out again for days spent in Welshpool or exploring the southern stretches of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Whether you’re stopping over for a single night or settling in for a longer stay, this spacious park makes a lovely place to relax. It’s part of a 13-acre smallholding that’s also got an orchard and a wildflower meadow. And although it’s a large place, the owners have chosen to keep guest numbers very low to make sure everyone’s got plenty of space to breathe. With very few neighbours, it’s a very quiet spot – and a very dark one too, with some fabulous stargazing on clear nights (it’s worth packing a torch to help you get around after dark though). Facilities have been nicely thought-out here, centring around a smart modern convenience block that’s got two toilets and two showers (with free hot water) and a small kitchen area with a microwave, kettle, fridge and washing-up sink.You’re also welcome to light a barbecue or campfire if you fancy cooking outside. For self-catering supplies or an evening in the pub, Llanfair Caereinion is about 10 minutes' drive away.

Facilities were immaculately clean at all times

不喜欢 Nothing on the shower was adjustable because of this i found the shower head too high for (i am on the shorter side) and the temperature too hot

喜欢 Überagender Platz mit exklusiven Plätzen. Sehr nette Betreiberin. Ein unbeschreibliche Ausblick vom Platz.
Sanitäranlagen fast wie zu Hause.
Hier fährt man runter und genießt nur noch.

不喜欢 Einkaufen ist etwas schwierig. Nächste Möglichkeit ist einige Kilometer entfernt.

喜欢 We loved welcome upon arriving and the sounds of nature and the uninterrupted views from the pitch. Showers and toilets were spotlessly clean.

不喜欢 Hot shower in the morning was a little tricky but it didn’t spoil the visit.

喜欢 What a find! Absolutely stunning, luxury site with beautiful scenery and A* facilities. The toilets and showers were like a hotel, wash room even had a microwave available and everything was pristine and fully stocked.
We arrived within about an hour of booking and had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts… perfect last night of our road trip around Wales and would definitely spend more nights here.

喜欢 Stayed with our campervan. Large pitch with lovely views. Shared facilities were great and to a high standard with a kitchen area which includes a kettle and microwave. There are only two pitches and two Safari tents so the area is quiet and peaceful, a lovely place to escape to although we had really good phone signal so you can keep in touch if needed.

There are no pubs or shops nearby so make sure to pack what you need or be prepared to travel out in the car/van. Didn't bother us but know some people like this.

We were left to it for the whole stay which suited us perfectly.

喜欢 Spacious pitches, great views and clean toilets. Allows campfires, what more could you want.

不喜欢 Not a major concern but if I had to pick something it would be the gravel used for the pitches. I’m still finding those little stones everywhere. You have to watch they don’t get stuck in places like the bit in between your sliding doors if you have one otherwise they scratch all your paintwork.

喜欢 A lovely greeting from the owner, the facilities are built to high quality and were very clean. Level patches with lovely views.

不喜欢 Very minor.. but noticed there was no hand soap so resorted to my shampoo.

The scenery is simply stunning around here, so you’ll want to get out for a few walks or bike rides while you’re in the area. There’s plenty of variety as well, so you can take woodland walks at Dyfnant Forest (10 minutes’ drive), waterside wanders at Lake Vyrnwy (20 minutes) or waterfall walks at Pistyll Rhaeadr (45 minutes). And of course, the trails of Eryri are not far off either – Dolgellau (35 minutes) is a good place to go for a start. Castles are always in good supply in Wales too – and around here you can visit places like Powis Castle and Garden (half an hour), Montgomery Castle (35 minutes) and Chirk Castle (an hour). Other heritage visits include the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway (10 minutes), historic Gregynog Hall (20 minutes) and the impressive Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (an hour). Fancy a breath of sea air? The beaches of Fairbourne, Barmouth and Aberdyfi can all be reached with a drive of around an hour.
