Take a look at the pics for Glynbrochan Campsite and you’ll probably note that they feature an awful lot of green – if restorative rural views are what you’re seeking, you’ve come to the right place. This peaceful pop-up site has been set up in an open field in the pretty Powys countryside, just under 10 minutes’ drive from the shops and pubs of Llanidloes. Pitches here are in the middle of a gorgeous green valley, with fine views all around over rural scenery, and a quiet, friendly atmosphere on site. It’s a simple setup here (in keeping with its rural surroundings), with just portable toilets and a shower tent in the pitching field and space to park your car by your pitch. Dogs are welcome to join you on your break here, and there’s plenty of space for them to stretch their paws on walks nearby. As you might expect when surrounded by such fine scenery there are lots of places to get out for a rural ramble or bike ride in the area – top spots are the Clywedog Reservoir (about 15 minutes’ drive away) and Devil’s Bridge waterfall (half an hour). Looking for adventure further afield? Glynbrochan Campsite is located just off National Cycle Route 8 and is 45 minutes' drive from Aberystwyth and its surrounding beaches.

喜欢 We have stayed twice so far and will 100% stay again. The field is lovely and spacious, amazing views all around, with 3 onsite toilet/shower/sink cubicles that have soap and toilet paper. We saw these cleaned frequently as well.
They also have a unit with a sink for washing up along with a drinking water tap.
A big shout out to the owner, Sarah, who is very friendly and accommodating. We forgot to bring a larger pan for dinner and we took a shot and text to see if it was possible to borrow one. Within the hour, she had brought this down for us to use. Life saver as it was pasta night for 6 people! We also got to meet her lovely dog which the kids loved, but the adults more!
Thank you Sarah for your hospitality and lovely site. We will be back soon!

不喜欢 Not a dislike, just an FYI - data/signal isn’t strong here. Not an issue as we liked not being on our phones. We did however, get it in a few areas of the field so not the end of the world at all. Signal is fine in Llanidloes town however which is a 5-10 minute drive.

喜欢 First time stayed here and would definitely recommend. All the facilities you need which were clean and beautiful scenery and the stars at night wow! Will definitely be returning in the future.

喜欢 Lovely isolated spot, beautiful location. Had the essentials we needed (toilets and washing up area). Recommended for anyone looking to explore the countryside. Very helpful and friendly owners. Still had good 4g though!

喜欢 A lovely remote location, with a stream running along it. No frills, all basic amenities are catered for. We had a beautiful view, hills all around. Absolute silence all night and an abundance of stars in the sky. The owner was very friendly. Hafren forest, with all its beauty is 15 mins up the road. Llanidloes is a quaint little village to walk around. Highly recommended for a cheap break away in seclusion.

喜欢 Sarah was lovely and welcoming on our arrival. Rural camp site is also lovely and quiet, with a little stream and working farms surrounding. Facilities are adequate and was perfect for stay, and visit to the Gigrin Red Kite feeding station.

More of those marvellous Mid Wales views? There are plenty around… and a good place to start is at Clywedog Reservoir (15 minutes’ drive), which has a couple of signposted walking trails along the waterside and up to the huge 72-metre dam. You can stop off at the remains of the Bryntail Lead Mine while you’re in the area for a sniff of the area’s industrial past. Elsewhere, the Gilfach Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is another good spot for a wander, as is the route to the 90-metre Devil’s Bridge Falls (half an hour), taking in viewpoints to the Punch Bowl and Three Bridges. You may well spot some wildlife on your walks, but to be sure of doing so, visit the Red Kite Feeding Station (25 minutes) for close encounters with the big birds. Add a bit of history and culture to your break with a trip to the medieval remnants of Dolforwyn Castle (35 minutes) or an outing to Mid Wales Arts (20 minutes) to see what exhibitions and events are on while you’re in town.
