添加您的业务详细信息Want to go wild camping on the Welsh coast? To make sure you’re doing it safely and legally you’ll need to get landowner permission – and that’s exactly what’s being offered at Rhydmeirionydd Farm, on the Ceredigion coast between Borth and Aberystwyth.
Kerrie and her husband bought this fabulous 37-acre plot of land and immediately fell in love with it – and they’ve now kindly decided to open the place up to visitors who’d like to share in the peace, the views and the generally rather magical atmosphere. There’s a main camping field with the grass cut for easy pitching, but you’re also welcome to explore the property and set up camp wherever you choose.
And there’s plenty to see as you roam around – this farm site has pretty streams, a little waterfall, some woodland and some particularly fine coastal views from the top fields (a bit of a climb, but worth it for the scenery…). It’s also easy to get out onto the coast path to see more of those gorgeous seaside views.
Although it’s on private land, this is very much a wild camping experience, so there are no facilities provided. That means you’ll need to bring everything you need with you – and take it all away again at the end, leaving the land just as it was when you arrived. It’s also a pretty remote location, so don’t expect much by way of mobile phone signal. That should contribute to the sense of true peace you get from a stay here, but there are a couple of places where you can get signal if you need it in an emergency.

Head out onto the Ceredigion Coast Path by the farm and you can walk north to Borth in about 45 minutes or south to Aberystwyth in a couple of hours. Both are well worth visiting – Borth (five minutes’ drive) has a long sandy beach with a petrified forest that’s visible at low tide and Aberystwyth (10 minutes) has a castle, Britain’s longest electric funicular railway and the oldest pier in Wales.
From Aberystwyth you can also board the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a steam-powered trip to the Devil’s Bridge waterfalls. You can also drive there in about half an hour, perhaps combining it with a visit to the Magic of Life Butterfly House (20 minutes) and Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (25 minutes), where you can see red kites being fed.
More outings? Head along the coast to places like Llanrhystud beach (half an hour), Aberdyfi (45 minutes) or New Quay (50 minutes), a hotspot for dolphin-watching boat tours.

proper old school camping as no facilities or signal so perfect for what we wanted also had a little stream to where we pitched up. we had a lovely flock of red kites circling above the field and the stars at night where beutiful..
