If you want to crank your glamping adventure up a notch (or three), and if only exceptional luxury will do, Silver Fern Glamping might be the place for you. At this intimate, adults-only site 15 minutes’ drive south of Aberystwyth, in the Llanfarian area, you shall stay in elegant shepherd’s huts with cosy touches such as underfloor heating and a woodburning stove (with an initial complimentary supply of wood and kindling; more can be purchased on site). A welcome pack includes all you need for a refreshing brew (tea and coffee, plus a few extra treats); you can also buy a breakfast hamper to prepare your own full English in the well-equipped kitchen, or bring your own supplies. If you’re here for a romantic break, perhaps you'd also like to bring a bottle of bubbly? You can sip it in the stargazing bath for the most fabulous experience à deux, before retiring to your hut where a wool mattress and luxury bed linen await. When you’re ready for a little activity, all you need to do is look around: the far-reaching views across Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains ought to give you plenty of ideas for the day’s itinerary. You can head to shingly Penparcau Beach (15 minutes) and climb up to Pen Dinas Hill Fort, or stroll along the West Wales Coastal Path – the stretch between Aberystwyth and Llanrhystud goes past the wind-beaten Penderi Cliffs nature reserve, as well as breeding sites for cormorants and a seal colony. Or head inland for a day of hiking on Pumlumon Mountain (half an hour).

喜欢 I recently stayed at Silver Fern Glamping while away on a business trip, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to stay.

The huts are beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable and have a real sense of luxury. Silver Fern is set on a peaceful farm surrounded by spectacular Welsh countryside, yet it’s still close enough to Aberystwyth to easily enjoy everything the town and surrounding area have to offer.

What really stood out for me was just how peaceful it is. After a busy day, being able to return somewhere so quiet and relaxing was absolutely perfect.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Silver Fern Glamping to anyone visiting Aberystwyth, whether for business or a break away. If you want somewhere luxurious, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the town while still being within easy reach, it’s a fantastic choice.

I’ll definitely be staying again.

喜欢 We both wish we could give this stunning place 10+ stars it really was that amazing!!
How do you fit all of it in one little post because they really had thought of everything which made for an even more relaxing stay.
First of all thank you so so so much for accepting dogs, just being able to take our little one on an adventure with us was really special and we stayed in King which had a really nice enclosed garden just for her to “chuff” at all the passers by 😂😂 (so sorry!)
The view was incredible, the location amazing, the huts were beautifully decorated and tasteful, the bed was just wonderful 😍😍 and the shower…. Pure bliss….
We would definitely come back!

不喜欢 Only one disappointment- totally understandable in the current conditions- we couldn’t use the bath due to the drought, didn’t stop us from enjoying the rest of the site though.

喜欢 The location was beautiful and the huts are wonderful with amazing views. We had two dogs with us and the enclosure around the hut, together with the adjacent dog field to let them run around, was amazing, the dogs loved it. Our hosts were very friendly and we felt very welcome. Other facilities including the small shop, parking and communal area made our stay very enjoyable in a lovely area, and we are definitely going to return.

喜欢 Great shepherds type hut with all the amenities anyone could want! underfloor heating definitely helped with my lack of log fire expertise!

不喜欢 Welsh weather was typical for Feb, but we were able hunker down and enjoy the hut.

Take the 19th-century Aberystwyth Cliff Railway to the top of Constitution Hill, where you can take in expansive views of the coast and visit a recreated Victorian camera obscura. If you’re into birds of prey, you will not want to miss the daily red kite feeding at Bwlch Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre (25 minutes), where there are also signposted woodland walks and mountain-bike routes for all abilities, including the black-grade Syfydrin Trail. Hard-core walkers might want to head to Snowdonia National Park (one hour), with its varied landscape of mountains, forests and waterfalls. Keep an eye (and an ear) out for woodland birds like cuckoos and woodpeckers, plus wild ponies and the rare Snowdon lily flower.
